Here's the plan:

wdw 8/26/06 thru 9/3/06 for me, hubby, daughter (17) and son (15)(ages at time of trip)
probably want CSR as we've stayed at the other moderates.
I know I have to book a room-only for 8/26 so the rest of the stay is at the value season rate which starts 8/27. plan to do this thru AAA (already a member).
have a quote from WDW for $2030 for 7 nights at CRS and 6 day PH passes. will contact AAA to see if they can do better.

Now my dilemma, the dining plan will cost another $1100 or so for the 4 of us and I'm not sure its worth it. I know you get more than you pay for but I think its also more than we would normally eat. Hubby thinks no, but if we book without it and they (PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!) offer it for free during next year's value season again, how do I get it added to my package?
If I book thru AAA do I have to watch for it myself and then get them to change my ressies? If I book thru WDW will they watch for me (HA!) or do I still have to watch and call?
How soon should I book anyway for the best discount?

Hoping to do this trip all inclusive for $4000 or less plus $400 Disney Visa points with a flight budget of $1000. Free dining would really help!!

Am I dreaming?

Thanks POOCH

You can add the dining to your package. That isn't a problem. And most people are reporting it is a huge $$$ saver.

You can call disney and get the AAA discount applied to your room reservation and add tickets to it (as long as everyone is getting the same tickets). I would either book myself through disney or get a good TA. Many of the AAA agents aren't as well versed in Disney as they should be to sell it with confidence and without error.

AAA often offers once a year some added value for booking a package through them like some disney dollars. many idependant TA's will match their offer, or offer you something better. Also, you can get "value added" services like itinerary planning, making your reserved seating arrangements, etc from a good ta.

Shop around, ask questions here and continue to save towards your $4000 trip. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions if you pm me.
