hey i have a quick question i hoping someone can help i am booking tomorrow morning for Christmas 2011 i am trying to get everything in order i was wondering do i have to book my home resort which is ssr or can i book any resort just a thought. my family and i are booking for DEC.25th thru DEC 30 th thanks.

At the 11 month window, you can only book your home resort. I suggest you do so, and then you can try to change it at the 7 month window if you would prefer another resort.

At 11 months out you can book only at home resort, you cannot book or change to another until 7 months out. For Christmas week in particular, the highest DVC demand week of the year, you should assume that the only thing you will be able to get is your home resort at 11 months out and at 7 months you will need a lot of luck to change to another if it can happen at all.

Everyone already answered your question, so I'm adding and unasked answer to your question! You didn't say what room type? If you are doing a 2BR, think about THV, if they are still available. We have our reservations for there, booked them last week. We are hoping the THV will give some relief to the crowd craziness of the parks!

Just booked THV for Dec, they are unavailable from Dec 23 - Dec 25, they still have availability for Dec 26th but I called at MS opening this morning.

We booked at our home resort (VWL) in Jan. last year for Dec. 19-26, (a 2bdrm), then changed at the 7 month window to OKW, where my sister also stayed in a 2 bdrm on rented points. You'll enjoy Christmas there no matter what resort, but definitely book now and change later if you need to.
