Booking Excursions for 5 linked Cabins

Hi all! First time DCL cruisers here, and our activites booking window opened this morning at 12am.

Before we booked, we read that you could link all the cabin reservations together (which we did), and then anyone could book activities for anyone else and all the names would be shown on the dropdown menu when you clicked to book an activity time. (same as booking dining at WDW)

However, this morning when anyone of us selected an excursion, only the cabin reservation they were currently in appeared as an option and we had to manually switch reservation numbers to book for others.

Afterward I read that if you link 5+ cabins together it can affect the booking process... was this the issue? We have 5 linked cabins.

I thought the limit was 3 cabins linked to be able to book for everyone, but admittedly I haven't done it personally.

First check that you are in fact linked. And are all cabins the same CC status? If not, you cannot book early for a cabin that is lower status.

It appears you can link your cabin to 3 others for a total of 4 linked.

My mom called DCL earlier in the day and was told she was linked with all the other cabins, but when any of us from the 5 cabins checked our own accounts it showed us linked to no one else. So we manually added the others.

Update from my travel agent on the issue (in case it helps anyone!):

"I did speak with Disney today and you are all linked together; however, having the 5 staterooms linked can at times cause technical challenges. Guest Services checked for everyone’s reservation today and were able to streamline within the My Disney Cruise accounts and hopefully that will assist with any issues you all may encounter moving forward."
