Booking DLP

My husband's family lives in Croatia and we thought on the way home we might spend 2 nights at DLP looking at either oct or Dec of 2014. Dec would be early. How difficult is it to do? Any experiences?

Points charts are awful for DLP!
It is much more convenient to pay cash for the rooms and keep the points for WDW. When comparing prices, note that packages purchased on the website always include park tickets, while DVC points bookings don't.
Also, you can browse all the different country websites: each has different offers tailored for that particular country, but it is possible to purchase from any even if you are not resident there. Have a look at the DLP board to see the offers. There is not need to book far in advance cash, there are now offers running for the oct-dec 2013 season.

If you want to use your points, it's a not so fun waiting game. DLP opens things up very randomly. I called on Monday and you can only book up to Nov. 7 of this year

However, this could change almost instantly! DLP opens things up in 3 or 6 month chunks and it's random! The day after I called they could have opened up 6 months. Then they could open up another 3 months. Or they can wait until Nov. to open anything else -_-

It's kind of irritating but I plan on going in June 2014 so I am just being patient and calling in each week to see what has opened up. I will be using my points

Booking through March opened this week. I just booked Hotel New York Jan 3-6 using my DVC points.

We used our points for DLRP and loved it. Had no issues with our experience. After looking up what the cash prices for that resort are I am glad we used our DVC points! And I loved being right at the park gate. But it would prob depend which resort you are looking at. Someday we want to go to DL Tokyo and the 2 in China and will do the same for them.
