Booking day for dvc member cruise tomorrow!!

Just did some math and realized it took over 2400 calls before I finally connected. I'm now five hours into this "adventure".

You have an advantage over us on the east coast when it comes to booking activities on the cruise. DCL opens that at midnight eastern.

Doesn't do me any good if I can't get ON the cruise. LOL And don't get me started on having to call MS before 2:30pm to get a few questions answered.

Good Luck to everyone still trying to book - I waitlisted after all that time. :confused3

Well that's it, I am done! It is now 12noon and I have been calling since 7am my time, two phones, nothing but busy signals. Will look into booking the Dream another time.

Good Luck to those still trying.

So I am still redialing since 7am my time it is now 12 I am about to give up. So my question to everyone on this board is what is the diffrence between the DVC cruise and the standard Disney Cruise. I checked the members site and the points are almost 30-40 more point per person for the DVC cruise. So why would I not just go with the standard cruise and not deal with this nice busy signal. Please help me understand.

Special guests and DVC events on board and stateroom gifts every night. :confused3

Ok I am correcting my last post, I stopped calling but my mom dialed one more tiem and now I am on hold!! GO figure. Ok lets see how long the wait and what is left

Ok, seriously! I love Disney. I love rides. But, I don't want to listen to ride audio while I'm on hold. Cannon shots going through the bluetooth are painful!!

Because you can't use your points to book a cruise on Dream until late 2011 or maybe 2012.

LOL Yeah, it's more noisy than musicy though the bluetooth. Ahhh, Elvis!

Okay, question regarding category availability...and some of you are waitlisitng for a particular category....will they let just two people in a cabin book a family stateroom if that is all that is available? I'll be happy with a category 8,9 or 10 if all verandah's are gone. I would think the verandah's would go first along with the family staterooms.

been on hold for 45 minutes so far.

I waitlisted for the 8's, when I got through around 10:45 to MS, they said everything 8 and below was reserved or being in the process of being reserved. Just bad luck I guess. I didn't have enough points to book anything higher than 8. :(

Now I'm really upset. I finally got to member services prompt. Hit 1 and received a fast busy. Come on DVC, I expect a lot more from your call center technology.

This just happened to us after 5.5 hours of busy signals. Now we can't get connected again! UGH

So here's a question:

If you reserve the Member Cruise with cash and then decide later to use points, can you do that? Or do you just have to then pay the $95 fee?

Or is the vice versa true?

Just a question as we're killing time on hold. :rotfl:
