Booking August 2026

We are planning our first trip to Japan for next August (2026) and are planning on 2 nights at the Tokyo Disneyland resort. It seems like the 30+ trips I've planned to WDW and DL aren't going to be of much help.

We'd like to stay at the Hotel MiraCosta and probably do a vacation package. Is there a time frame for when mid-August would be released? We are planning on doing mid-week as I figured it might be slightly less crowded but let me know if I am off base. Is it possible this hotel will book up immediately and I might get shut out? We'd like to book whatever their highest level of Lightning Lane or Fastpass system is....as this is more than likely our one trip here. Also, for people who have been, how crowded is mid August? We'd probably be there around the 11th to 13th.

I'm going to spend a bunch of time reading as many threads as I can, but nailing down the hotel and line skipping passes is my number one focus at this point. Thanks!

If they haven’t changed the booking windows, August VPs will be released around the beginning of March.

Oooh, I'm literally finishing up my trip report from Tokyo Disney right now! If you're willing to spend a bit of money and aren't too picky on your room type, the vacation packages for Mira Costa are still available even if you don't play the crazy game of being up right when they release, etc. I ended up booking a Harbor view room at MiraCosta later, way after they dropped, as we planned the trip a bit late. I would highly recommend booking the Unlimited fastpass vacation package - it's pricy, but so worth it to be able to go to the rides through the fastpass line whenever you want without having to have something booked. There are some rides that don't have fastpasses though, so that's something to pay attention to.

We went in May so no insight on crowds, but happy to answer any other questions I can about the booking and such. You're gonna have a great time!

We went in March/April 2025, and did 3/31 room only (four months to the day), then a 2-night VP from 4/1-3 (VPs released early-November.)

When you say "worth it to be able to go to the rides through the fastpass line whenever you want without having to have something booked" is that similar to the Premier Pass at the US parks? We've done that at DL and WDW and you just tap in and get in the FP line. Or do we have to select what we want to ride next on the app? As far as pricey, do you have a rough ballpark of what 2 nights at MiraCosta + tickets + Unlimited fastpass will set me back? Just trying to see if the 2 night/2day park is going to be closer to $3k-$5k or $10k. Our other flights and hotels are all free via points so this is our big splurge so to speak.

One other question, for anyone who is also a DVC member, has anyone ever used points to book these hotels...and if so...is there any pros/cons? I highly doubt I would go that route but just wondered if anyone has ever used that trade out.

DVC Member here. Using DVC points for TDR hotels is a terrible use of points. You’re better off selling points and using that money to fund your TDR bill.

Also, the Unlimited Rides package gives you, well, unlimited passes (not just one each) to every non-Fantasy Springs attraction that has a fast lane, or whatever they call it out there. I’ve forgotten.

Yea, I think similar to Premier Pass (though I've never done that) - you get a piece of paper for your fastpass, and you just show that to the CM as you enter the fastpass line. You can ride the rides as many times as you want, in a row or not, no pre-booking or anything. For example, at the end of the night we just looped Toy Story Mania and did it 3 or 4 times in a row just flashing that piece of paper and hopping in the fastpass line.

The Unlimited vacation package is only two days - one day at Disneyland and one day at DisneySea. You can't book it for more days - their packages are restrictive that way. The Unlimited vacation package will come with one night in a hotel, tickets for Disneyland for one day and DisneySea for one day, and fastpass for both days - ours when we booked in May was 316000 yen for two people - $2139.33. It also included "tickets" for unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and unlimited popcorn.
