just noticed that jetblue has dates open till oct 2010. Do i book now for a september trip? the price seems good but i don't know.

i know its a crap-shoot but any thoughts??

If it is a price your happy with, then I would book it. If the prices goes down and you call Jet Blue they will give you a credit(which can be used within one year of issue)

I booked my Aug airfare wih them back in Nov. (I was suprised that they were out soo far at that point and the price was really good.)

I looked at their deals and they do seem good. I would go for it.

I have booked October airfare as early as the previous October (NWA/Delta releases fares really far in advance). If you are happy with the price, then you should grab it. Airfare deals seem to be much fewer these days. I booked for the end of August about 6 weeks ago.

If you are sure you will be going and the price is what you are happy paying then book the tickets.

I would. I just booked tickets for August this week on Delta. I am aware the times/flights might change, but I got non-stop for under $200.00 each from Cincy to Orlando. I got an extra bonus as Delta raised their baggage fees for tickets purchased the next day.

I also booked our November flight with Delta a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised the price was so good. I couldn't pass it up and have to worry that I missed a good deal.

I booked our June airfare in early December, Airtran non-stop for $94 each way from Portland, ME. That's a very good price. Other airlines have had some specials a bit cheaper, but they all have 1-3 stops. I'm happy with what I paid, and if Airtran's prices go down, I believe they give credits like a PP said above.

We booked our Feb 2010 airfare in April 09 because we had a great rate. I was told we could get a 1 time price reduction if we saw our flights lower at any point but they would only credit us once. I've peeked many times over the last almost year and never once did I see it lower and now the tickets are double if not triple what we paid. They did however recently cancel our 1st flight and bump us to a later one (on the way down) but even looking elsewhere on other airlines we couldn't touch the rate we got booking way far in advance.

Not to be a downer, but I hope it stays non-stop for you. Airtran is notorious for cancelling flights and leaving you with a connecting flight.

I agree with you Erika. Snag the prices when you think they are good. We booked October 2010 on November 30th, had to pay $281.90 a ticket for non-direct on NWA...those same flights now are over $650 each!! :scared1:

Really do they give you any discount or just tell you your stuck with the changes?

I consider anything under $300 great out of here. I got 4 tickets at the end of August 2010 for $799 total! Non stop on Delta!

$300 is a good deal, but you used to be able to get direct for that price. But now the direct flights were like $1000+ each, no way am I paying that, my girls are good enough fliers to have a stop...so I jumped on the $281 and am SO glad I did.

Your $799 is an AWESOME deal...WOW!! :thumbsup2

I hear ya!!! And the schedules out of here aren't so great anymore either. We had connecting flying down last October. There was a storm and we almost missed our connection. But it was a very tight connection and it was the last flight of the night.

Nope, no good flight times anymore either. This is the downfall of the whole NWA/Delta merger. We have like a 10am flight out of MSP getting into MCO at like 4 which isn't bad, really loved the 7:05am direct flight! And then on the way home we have a 1:20 flight getting back around 6. We are just doing the parks and such, so we we happen to get delayed we will be ok.

We have the 7:05 am flight out, and a 3:30 or so return. Both direct. I'm happy!

Sorry if we hijacked this thread LOL, airfare is always a concern in Minneapolis.

I am jealous...those are the flights we always took and paid like $240ish for them...gone are those days!
