booking a split stay online

We considering doing a split stay for my next visit. Something we have never done before. Both would be WDW hotels. If booking online, do we do two separate bookings (separate deposits etc) as they are handled individually? Is it better to phone them in directly? Thanks for any information. It probably isn't confusing but just seems so at the moment. beachfan

Yes, they are two separate bookings. "Split stay" is an internet term. You are literally booking two hotel stays.

You will want to book your package with tickets the length of the trip under your first reservation and do a room only for your second reservation. Not sure if this matters to you or not but when booking ADRs you will only be able to do the days of the first resort plus the day you switch at 180 days and will then will have to wait until 180 days of the second resort to book for the rest of the trip. For FPs you can do it all at 60 days.

What happens if you book your second stay first? I booked my second stay and then added my first stay (it's just 1 day, the day i fly in)

It doesn't matter which one you book first. The booking window for ADR and FP is based on the first date of your stay.
