We are patiently waiting to close on our resale purchase, we should close any day. We want to go to WDW this fall either on points or a cash reservation. We're thinking either Labor Day week, mid October, or the week before Thanksgiving. If we travel in September our FP window will be mid July. Should we go ahead and book a cash reservation and then cancel if we can get a reservation on points? We don't want to miss out on securing those FP reservation. We'd rather go in November, but we aren't holding our breath. Lol

If getting FP+ at the 60 day window is very important to you, then yes, book the cash reservation and gt those nailed down. You're probably 2 -3 weeks away from getting your member number, which will enable you to book for points. FWIW, unless you need specific times for the more popular options, you should be fine, especially if you book your FP+ prior to the 30 day window. However, IMO, there' sno harm done (except for maybe putting down a refundable deposit) to booking for cash & cancelling if you get something for points.

IMO, the week of Labor Day will give you the most choices for points, but you never know. Good luck and welcome home!
