Booked Today, Leaving Tomorrow...Tips, please!

I don't know about that, but I do know I had a little too much time on my hands and a few extra points for flights.

Ha! I do that all the time, too. It's been about a year since we've been and I think this is the perfect excuse!

Congrats on the last minute getaway!!

I would bring -
- tons of sunscreen
- swim goggles for DS
- plan on buying a misting fan at the park (or bring one from home)
- sunglasses

Have a fantastic trip

This is what I'm not sure of. I'm thinking we should either do DHS all day Saturday or all day Sunday. I think they'd like Animal Kingdom, but we don't have a ton of time and I'm pretty sure they'd rather go to DHS, MK and EP. I guess I can just try to change the FPs and go with it! Not something I'm normally good at.
Make sure the APP is on your phone. Some of the top FP's are gone by 10am, but only a few. Today I checked the app on my phone at 11am and most everything was still available, except Frozen and Soarin, but the earlier the better.

Star Tours normally has FP for a while, so you could probably change it if you are delayed.

I don't know if you check the crowd calendars or park hours, if you need this, we can send you links, but getting there before rope drop 30-45 minutes before park opens will get you a couple of hours without long waits normally without a FP.

There's also the Star Wars Fireworks at HS every night they would probably enjoy. Also, the Captain Phasma and March of the First Order located from Launch Bay to Center Stage at 10,11,12,1,2,3,4, the show is 10 minutes long.

Hope everyone has a great time, please let us know how it is going! :)

I didn't even think of military salute tickets.

If you're going to try to get these, you need a military ID, so make sure she packs hers. I know she can get 5 tickets for sure, but I can't remember how the 6th one works without the military member. Since she is the spouse, I think she can get all 6.

We booked 3 days out a few years ago, for Memorial Weekend. Had a BLAST. Like you, we were able to get most FPs.

With boys, you can't really be leaving anything behind except sunscreen. Boys will probably wear the same clothes the entire trip if you let them. And who needs a toothbrush?? Or a shower??

Have a great time

You are amazing! Just go with the flow and remember that you can do anything (FP+ and dining reservations) from your phone. Let the boys lead the way and just have a great time!

Just keep looking for the top fast passes throughout the day. They always open up. I have yet to not get a fast pass for even the top rides on the same day. People cancel all the time. Just need some patience

Have fun! Last trip we went, I booked our room at the airport while boarding the plane! We are military and live by the seat of pants! We had a great time!!

I guess the most important thing that I can think of that you may have forgotten is where do you plan on dining? If you are staying the entire weekend and quick service food is not your cup of tea, I would immediately find a place you wish to have dinner and see if you can make a reservation for dinner. I can usually survive on hamburgers and other such fare for the day but I like a good meal and the end of that day.

Just wanted to give thanks to your son's friend's Dad for serving our Country. Hope he has a safe deployment. ...
And hope you guys have a blast

I just booked for tomorrow through Monday today. I've never done anything like this, but my son's friend's dad is deployed and his mom and I were looking for something fun for the boys to do this weekend. I booked the trip and no one but me knows where we're going! They do know we're flying on a plane from Pittsburgh, but my mom lives in Florida so they could think we're going there until we get in the Magical Express line.

I'm excited, but now I'm starting to realize what I've just done.

I have a fastpass booked for Star Tours tomorrow in HS between 8:45 and 9:30. We land around 6:30. We're staying at Pop Century so I know Hollywood Studios is normally a less than 10 minute bus ride, so I'm really hoping we'll make that. I did the Dining Plan and have two table service meals booked already.

My son is 10, his friend his 10 and friend's brother is 12. They enjoy pretty much any ride and I know we'll be hitting the Star Wars stuff in Hollywood Studios.

I guess what I'm saying is... what am I missing? What should I be throwing into a carry-on bag to make sure everyone has a wonderful time?

What a wonderful thing! Other than comfy shoes and lots of sunblock, I think whatever you'd pack for a regular trip should be fine. If you think they'd like pressed pennies, you might get a few rolls of quarters and some new pennies. All my kids love collecting them - even the cynical teen.

Have a wonderful, magical time!! Take some time to soak up all the great moments...it will fly by. And please update and let us know how it all unfolds with the boys when they realize where they are going! Enjoy!

This is my favorite thread of the week!

I have no tips other than to have a great time. And make sure you are ready to take a photo or even a video when you lead them to that Magical Express line.
