Got a great deal on Friday - Friday at Pop with my AP (Mar. 11-18) for me and DD - however, air fare almost put me in an early grave! Thank goodness I had some SWA credits to use before the name change went into effect, but it was still scary! $214 each one way going down, and $179 each coming home - eek is right:scared1: Still cheaper than driving, and less stressful since I would have been the only driver. Can't wait though!
Anyone else joining us?:woohoo:

Woohoo! Congrats! Glad you had credits to use, those are crazy prices for Southwest!

There are cheaper SW flights if you can go Mar 15-22...which is when we are going  We got really lucky with our flights....my friend was not sure she could go and we missed an amazing price with Jetblue...$180 each all in, non stop, March 14-21. Anyway, when she comfirmed she could go we booked SW non stop, 15-22 for $219 each all in. Still way more than I have ever paid but considering that it's March break I think it's good. Flying the same days from YYZ was around $800 each.:scared1:

For sure flying is better for you and DD. Where are you staying? We're at BCV March 10 and 11 and then over to Marriott Grand Villas.

Can't come soon enough. Already looking at luggage!

See you on the plane! ;)

We booked 15th to 22nd a couple of weeks ago. A little more expensive at $259 all in each, but still happy!

I would have loved to go at different dates to pay less for flights, but DD is lead in a play and they only have 2 weeks of dress rehearsal when we get back, so she couldn't miss any school (other than the Friday afternoon on the 11th). And paying $393 pp for flights was not fun, but had $100 credit each for SWA, so I can pretend I only paid $293 each ;)
At least my AP room rates at Pop were cheap - only $87 a night. We usually stay at DVC resorts for family trips, but with DD and I, we only wanted somewhere to sleep since we'll be doing all we can at the parks every day.

We'll be there. We're flying SW Sunday to Sunday. (13 to 20) Mother/son trip to Caribbean Beach Resort (1st timeat CBR) booked through SW vacations resort and flight for 820. I heard that Hippy Dippy might be closed at Pop, but I am sure I will still be missing POP, enjoy!!

We will join you, March 7th til the 18th! Flying from Buffalo, on Jetblue $89,staying offsite at Cypress Pointe! Let's all pray for great weather to get there and while we are there!

Name change? I have not flown SWA since last July, so must have missed something. Please tell me they did not get rid of the credits? Looking to book with them again this summer.

Enjoy your trip.

No worries, can still use your credits - they changed their policy Jan. 28/11 so that the credit must be used by the person the flight was originally booked for - bit of a downer, since we used to save up credits to use for little side trip for DH and me, but now has to be whoever's name you booked it in.

Is that $820 each? Great price - how long ago did you book it? I tried that this week and it was $1600 each or more.
Won't it be fun just the two of you?! I can't wait, and neither can DD!

What flight are you on? We are on the 2pm non-stop on the 15th and then the 12:50pm non-stop on the 22nd. I can just imagine myself giving everyone the eyeball :magnify:trying to figure out who the Disers are.

We are on the non-stop at 11am going and 9pm coming back. Going to be a rough night on the way back since we don't land until 11:30pm, but kinda wanted to stretch out another day in Florida!

Too bad...no airport Dis meet.:lmao: We were originally going to take the 11am departure but we needed to get together to make the booking and in the span of the 2 hours until we got off work and met up to book.... the 2pm had dropped to $79. So that's a fair bit of change and we are still going to be at our destination in time for dinner.

Coming home we both wanted to be back at a good time...we both have to go back to work the next morning. My friend has to be on the train around 6:30am.

Cross posted this in the Car Rental thread...

Might be useful for those going about the same time frame. Anyone get a better car rental rate?

We are going from March 15 to 22nd (8 days since we return after the 24 hour window).

Originally I got US$261 all in for a midsize car through Southwest. Was quite happy with that rate since every other site seemed to be $400+.

Just booked through Expedia.ca for the same dates and same size car. Budget (great since there's no fee for the additional driver (spouse)). Cdn$185 all in!

Totally happy now!
