Got a price on Virgin flights from Manchester last week but didn't book - gone down today by £50 (total for the 3 of us). Decided they might not go down anymore so we've booked 19th Sept to 6th October (17 nights).

First week booked back at Cabana Bay up at Universal (love it there) - second 10 nights in Disney somewhere but still to be decided.

Where are you staying kizzle?

We're planning on being at cabana bay from 20th September for 14 nights.
We've never not stayed on site at Disney as a family ( I've done i-drive alot as a child) and since the boys are 11,11,14 next trip they asked to do more universal and for the first time busch gardens and aquatica etc.
Since there is so much construction at Disney right now, and the twins want to go for their bday in may 2017 for a disney cruise,we decided to only do disney for 2 days which we have tickets for from
US free dining.
However it kills me just to think about this lol and so I still priced up a wk at Disney hoping to use the US free dining deal.
Not sure if we will do it however, as we promised ourselves, this would be a cheap trip and would save the money for the yr after.

tinkerpea - I am also looking for the US free dining - fingers and everything else crossed.

i :lovestruc u !! seriously i could have wrote this exact post , our plan was also a cheaper non disney focused trip , but i want to :guilty: cry been so near and not going . We ate huge avatar fans n busting for the new land to open so a return visit wont be far behind. our dates a 25th aug -19th sept .
i havent booked any accommodation yet but cabana bay is looking a firm fave

as for the disney im thinking a few character meals at resort will ease the pain a bit and spend a lot of hours at disney springs in disney store

Im also trying to ignore the fact my kitchen is piled up in the dining room:sad: and i have builders bills to pay

Ha I know, it's literally the worst feeling for a disney lover!
I know in my heart I will feel so sad where not staying and spending alot of time there.
However my head tells no no no!! You can not afford to do may 2017 if you do disney in September and so as much as I try dancing around the fact, it very much should be a budget universal trip.....

I've been trying to look at restaurants off site at i-drive and surrounding areas as I literally have to say I'm almost clueless now about off site.
I just adore my onsite restaurants.
Also I just want to add our family LOVE avatar! And seriously can't wait, hence the may trip as my twins are crazy fans, and have watched it over and over.

Since not many want the land, maybe we can just have it to ourselves

After blowing out a solo trip I had booked (well in advance) for last year, after meeting someone and then getting married, wasn't sure when I would get back to WDW.

However after the transition cruise to Barca for our belated Honeymoon, we have the funds and we are doing 3 nights in Memphis as DW is a big Elvis fan then 10 nights in AoA. Roll on October 4th when we head Stateside :)

Brilliant - we only went for a week last year so rushed wasn't the word for it! Mind you we did only do Universal - it will be first time we have done WDW in 4 years this year so a lot of reading up to do around Magic Bands etc.

we went to a few offsite places last time , black angus steak house was really nice we were staying in lake buena vista and it was walkable which was also nice.

we have a long stay so going to do lots of beach and pool days , think we will stay on gulf coast and go to busch gardens from there, all the boys want to do is go fishing at the beach though

Download the Disney World app, create an account and link your cards/bands as soon as you brought them.

180 days before your holiday you can book dinner reservations

If you're staying in Disney hotel you can book your fast passes 60 days in advance (I could prob tell you what be the busiest rides)

Not staying in Disney? You can book fast passes 30 days in advance

Get the app!

Fab, we fly the same day but we are Thomas Cook and our cabana bay is our last week .... Great minds lol

Im travelling at a similar time and doing 6 nights Disney (somewhere - as yet undecided) followed by 5 night Cabana Bay
