Can anyone tell me of a good place to stay the 22nd as we'll be getting into Orlando probably early evening. We've already got our reservations for POP Dec 23-31.

thats kinda what happened with the 23rd lol We are planning on taking the kids out of school on the 21st, unless our daughter has exams that day and leaving bright n early. Hopefully getting thru NY and PA and VA without any bad weather. I just thought maybe stay off resort for the 1 night. Also does anyone know of any walmart or outlet malls near WDW?

I sometimes arrive earlier if it turns out the flight I will book is much cheaper a day or so earlier (I book my ressies way before my flight). It happend one time that the flight was $139 cheaper EACH ticket if I flew 2 days earlier. Since we have APs too, going a couple of days earlier was good...but booking AKL savannnah w/ddp for the 2 days would be too much to justify.

It was a no brainer to take the flight 2 days earlier.. I pricelined a 3* hotel for the 2 nights.. I won them at I think $56 a night.. got the Radisson Celebration (the Radisson Parkway at that time 2 years ago). We were very happy with it.. extended our vacation by 2 days (the extra days for the car rental came out to less than $50 total!).

If I can't get an early flight in.. I also will book a cheap hotel for the night. If we just have time to sleep.. I can't see spending alot for a resort.

I love priceline.. but for a better idea of the hotel you're getting, hotwire is good too.

As for Walmart.. yes, there's superstore not far.. there are strip malls and outlets all over too. Most Disney resorts, or any hotel, will give you maps, and/or directions too them.

If you are driving down and are looking for a cheap place to stay, there are plenty of places to stay right outside of Disney. I have stayed at a couple of choice hotels (comfort inn/suites) and found the internet rate to be reasonable. Just do a search on the choice hotel web site. They also have refridgerators, so you can cool down some stuff. They weill have a free continental breakfast. La Quinta Inns are also generally inexpensive and have continental breakfast, This works well if you want to hit a grocery store when you arrive, crash for the night, and check in early the next am at POP.

You could also try Priceline or hotwire for an inexpensive place, except you won't know what you are getting until after you bid/pay.

If you are using Disney transportation then I would add one night room only to the POP reservation.

I know there are walmarts and a Target on the way to the airport, but I couldn't tell you how to get there.

well I had originally booked the 24-31 thinking i'd get a better airline rate but the prices are very high so we added the 23 it was a cheaper airfare. Called and got told we're sorry that airfare isnt available as the seats are taken. Sooo we figure we'll drive. As for priceline, I dont think Canadians can use it. Thanks for your everyones ideas.
