Booked a room at Doubletree Suites at WDW

I just used my Hilton Honors points to book a week at DoubleTree Suites at WDW. Can anyone provide info about the hotel, nearby area and transportation?

Any info is appreciated since this is our 1st trip to WDW!!!!

We stayed there in 2000 and it was nice. The only thing I did not like was that the bus system is not as good. It only picked up every hour in the morning and they dropped you off a little further away than Disney transportation.

I have stayed there twice, including one night in March before my stay at OKW using my DVC points. Both of my stays were splendid. Very good value, I think. The suites are quite large and have been re-done very recently. Our beds in March were plush and comfy and the suite gave us room to spread out (3 teen boys used the living area with an Aero bed we had brought with us), DH and I had the bedroom. We. too, used Honors points so our stay was "free"...can't beat that!

Both times I stayed here I had a car so did not use the bus service...would not hesitate to stay here again, especially if I got a good rate or could use points!

We think the Doubletree Suites are GREAT!! Lots of room to stretch out and TWO TVs which is a requirement for us! The resturant is okay ...nothing to cheer about but we had the free Mousesavers continental breakfast which was fine. The pool is pretty basic but we were too busy at the parks to spend much time there anyway. We had a rental car which I think is a good idea if it fits into your budget. Waiting around for a bus is not what we want to do! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!! Wish I had enough Hilton Honors points to get a free week!! Have fun!
