My husband and I were talking this weekend about our trip we just booked and he got me a little concered. Was anyone there last year on 9/11? Is the security a little tighter than normal? Do they go to any extra precautions b/c of what happened before? Also is the park really empty? Should we also avoid it for that day and just hang out at the resort??
I'm sure I'm over-reacting but it doesn't hurt to ask.

We're also going 9/11 and I think that it's going to be the safest day to fly. The terrorists struck in Spain 911 days after the WTC. They seem to work with those odd numbers and I would think that especially on 9/11 wherever you go, especially WDW, security would have extra eyes on everything. Just my opinon.

We are going September 10 or 11th, I haven't booked air yet. You are probably right. I was worried if we have to fly 9/11 - your comment makes me feel better. Thanks!

We were at the parks during 9/11 for both the past two years. If there were any additional security measures, they were not outwardly visible. Just the normal bag screeners at the entrance. This is not to say I felt security was lacking, because my family and I felt safe, just that it did not detract from the magic. The crowds were light to very light except for Saturday and Sunday and those days were more crowded. Have a great trip.
