Where in your house do you store all your scrapbooks (not the one you're working one) but the ones that others can look through? ARe they all together or in different places? Right now mine are stacked on the hearth beside the fireplace (don't worry, we have gas logs and they are cut off until next winter). They were neatly stacked on top of my hope chest but DD decided that was the perfect spot for her "work space". And they're all kept together.

nobody looks through mine but me, so they're upstairs in the library in a set of shelves.

Mine are on bookshelves as I was told to always store them vertically.

Mine are on the one bookcase in the living room and have mostly taken it over. My girls take them out to look at them alllll the time.

Mine are in my scraproom closet on shelves....we look at them a lot!

Mine are on one of the bookcases in the living room. They are kind of taking over but I don't mind!
I like them accessible so the kids can pull them out.

I love looking through scrapbooks even if they aren't mine. I am one of those that actually enjoy looking through other peoples vacation photos! :rotfl:

Why should they be vertical, I've never heard that? Good to know though, I've got mine laying down flat, I'll have to find somewhere else to store them. We look through them quite often. Even my 3 yr old loves to look at them.

When we move to our new house we are going to get a bookshelf and put all of them on it. Don't have too many scrapbooks right now, but between my husband and my childhood scrapbooks we could probably fill a bookshelf, but I'm not sure if I will put the childhood ones up.

I have full intentions of making a "family" album from the time we started dating and continuing on. I've been working on the same Disney trip for two years now, so when I get the next two trips done I am going to start on that album.

I was told that the pages may warp or buckle if you stack too much weight on top of them. Wheter that's true or not I have no idea :confused3 Also, they seem to take take less space stored vertically ;)

I've never thought about that, but it makes sense if you use embellishments and anything other than paper. i'll have to do some rearranging tonight!

I also heard that if you have top-opening page protectors you shouldn't store them upright as dust can get in :confused3 I would imagine that's only a case if you had some very bulky embellishments which make the pockets gape open

I wish I had a proper shelf (or several:rolleyes1) for mine - I've got 15 or so on the buffet in the dining room (next to where I scrap, so it incliudes the albums in progress), the erly volumes of the boys' albums are in their wardrobes (DS17 hasn't noticed yet;)) and the rest are on shelves in a bookcase in the living room - horizontal as the shelves are not tall enough, and its a sort of cupboard at the bottom so its hard to get them oput:confused3 We do have a great unit in the utility room but its our shoe rack so unless DH and I get rid of our shoes I'm not going to be allowed to use it:rotfl:
