Has anyone used Book-it.com to book a hotel stay. I am wondering what your thoughts is to this company and if it is safe to book thru them.

There was a post last week somewhere here on the boards where someone was freaked out that she couldn't reach them and couldn't confirm her airline or hotel reservations. In that thread, it was mentioned that they have many very bad reviews various places on the web. I would do some research yourself.

I've used them several times and have had a good experience. I can't really comment on their customer service, as I've not had a problem that I've had to contact them.

Last year, we booked the Embassy Suites DTD through Book-it for $55 a night. I thought it was a great deal.

I book my father through this site and he has never had a problem.

I booked a home through them last year and didn't have a problem with them, just the home I booked through them had issues (a/c went out and it was 95 degrees).

I love bookit.com especially for last minute trips. I have 2 weeks booked for the weeks of the 4th of July and the week after through my DVC but need something for the 1st and 2nd. I have seen alot but am waiting till the day I leave to make final reservations so I can get the cheapest.
I wish I could get Embassy suites for $55 like ncmikeylover, the cheapest I have seen it was $119 a night which is still pretty good considering the bfst and the 2 hour happy hour included. (when we stay there they lose money on us) I need either a suite or 2 bedrooms since I have 3 adults and we don't all want to share a room.

A friend of mine booked her entire Las Vegas trip through bookit.com. The night before her trip she went to print out her boarding passes. Her flight was not there! She was never booked on a flight! She paid everything, the hotel was there but not the flight. After 6 hours on the phone with everyone from bookit.com including the VP, they managed to put her on a flight the next morning.

Now, bookit.com is bringing legal action against her because they are still trying to charge her for plane tickets that she paid for back in November! She is still trying to get this taken care of. I have not heard one good thing about this company. Be aware!

We booked the hotel for our last Disney trip through Bookit. We didn't have any problems, so I didn't speak with customer service. But, everything ran smoothly at checkin.

A little off topic - On the other hand, I had an awful time with hotels.com customer service. Based on my own experience, I'd book with bookit.com over hotels.com in a heartbeat.

Ioften look at this website a freind books trips to Vegas loves them i have had major problems with Hotels .com i will never use them again as my trip to Williamsburg would have been ruined if not for nice hotel owner who made my trip wonderful after speaking to Hotel .com issue wasnt resolved he took care of problem .:cool1:

Book It.... Back in the day Book It was a reading program for elementary school kids that if you read so many books you would earn a certificate for a free personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut.

I have never used bookit.com. Sorry for the interruption, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

I have used them twice and NEVER had a problem. This year I am using them again for a 4day 3nite stay at Bahama Bay resort in August. Great deal, $65 a night and upgraded to a 3 bedroom. I used them back in 2007, 2008 and had a wonderful experience. This year, I see they charge a $19.95 cancellation fee, which wasnt in place before. I have always had questions, and never had a problem contacting them. I have never brought airline tickets thru them so I cannot comment on that.

In 2009 and 2010 I used Booking.com. They do not have a cancellation fee, as long as you cancel 2 days prior. I have had a good experience with them too. For example, last year I booked 3days and 2nites in a 2bedroom at Blue Tree Resort for $65/night. About a month before our trip, we decided to arrive in Orlando a day earlier due to a sudden airfare drop. The Blue Tree rates had gone up and would have cost me $30 more for the one night. I called Booking and they called Blue Tree and got me the extra day at the same $65 rate. They immediately sent me an email confirmation that included the name of the manager at Blue Tree who authorized it. I had no problems whatsoever. I wanted to use Booking again this year, but they didn't offer the deal on Bahama Bay that Bookit was offering. My family wanted to try the Davenport area this year. Anyway, in my experience, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. But based on what I read here, I would NOT book airfare thru them. But I think they are an EXCELLENT choice for just hotel stays.

I booked a 1 week trip to the Dominican Republic with them in April and did not have any problems what so ever. I called customer service to request a king size bed in the room and when I called the hotel directly to confirm, it was posted on my reservation as a special request. No issues with the flight, hotel, nor transfers to and from the hotel.

I was worried as we were traveling to another country but no issues what so ever with their service.
