Hi
I'm looking to book for May 2008 and the prices are just out for package / fly drives. should I book now or hold off till the scheduled flights are out at 11 months?

TCD is £2460 4 adults inc. car 7 seater. would scheduled work out cheaper when just released with the car hirer from the likes of airline network??:confused3

Are the TCD flights likely to increase in price if you wait, or is that a brochure price? If it is, I'd be inclined to wait and make the comparison. It doesn't seem particularly cheap to me. Virgin prices for May this year are between £370 and £400. A seven seater mini-van, inclusive of all insurances and fuel, from US Rent A Car would be about £350 for 14 days.

Sorry Debs I should have said that was Upper Deck. I was thinking that it may pay to wait.

Tony, what do TCD offer in their upper deck is it extra leg room?Is it similar to VA PE? If so it was approx £2500 for 2 adults and a child fly drive. Also the car hire do you have to add on extra insurance or does it include total cover?

Have you compared on the VH website, I think the fly drive prices for 2008 are available. We have booked a fly drive with them in the past and just not collected the car. We found it cheaper to arrange our own car hire.

It depends if you can pick and choose holiday dates/hotels. I personally get booked up as soon as we can after deciding on dates/hotels. We have to work holidays in during college/university holidays so are restricted, therefore, we have booked for July 2008 this week. Thereby guaranteeing we go when we want to where we want. Prices were similar to current brochure/online prices but, of course, sales can happen but we can live with price reductions.

could you give me the link for the fly drive prices as I just can't get past the packages holidays (maybe its because its glasgow but I wouldn't have thought it should)

Thanks Folks

We are looking to go 3rd May as this is the warmest time for the least number of points on our timeshare ( 2 weeks for almost the same number of points a 1 week in high season) Upper Deck is 33in pitch no kids under 6 , better menu and 30Kgs. luggage allowance. worth the extra £129 per person I think as we are going with my Mum and Aunt. It's their first long haul flight so I want them to enjoy it.

Prices may come down but if I grab it now at least I know we are reasonably safe unless TCD change flights around nearer the time but there is always that possability no matter when we book.

Tony,
The Virgin economy prices for flydrive for May are £539 each? Is that no good?

I'm looking May 2008 and hopefully Upper Deck, I guess Virgin PE is going to be more??

Tonester, if you're comfortable with the price for what you're getting, I'd book it now and not look back.

Tony,
Like Deb says... just book it... then the fun begins!!

Ali, here is the link

I checked a few dates and at the moment it only goes up to March 2008. The prices I quoted were for a fly drive I took in December 2006, I booked those at least a year before. May be worth calling them?

thanks for the info jockey glad it wasn't me doing something wrong ;)

can't make up our minds to be honest between VA or wait until the MY Travel prices come out. we want to go for 3 weeks and with our DS in a wheelchair Sanford seems the easier option

decisions decisions :rotfl:

Very Very tempted But I've got to work on DW and runit past the others at work tomorrow.

Watch this space :goodvibes

I could have a countdown soon. ;)

Ali I would go with the easy option!:thumbsup2

Tony - I hope you get booked soon!:)

:goodvibes We checked the virgin website yesterday and their dates go right through next summer!!
I would wait a few weeks, we got a great price by booking last Easter for our trip this June so I'd wait to see what great deals they have lined up. At the moment the website does not have any discounts when you go through the booking procedure to see the total costs;)Good Luck:grouphug:

been with MY Travel now twice so know what to expect and their flight times are good/suit DS needs. didn't think they were an option because we wanted to go for for 21 nights so started looking into Virgin but bit worried about MCO to be honest with it being so big not from an able bodied persons point of view but with a disablity. I know Amercia is really clued up for wheelchairs but the thought of collecting the baggage twice and immigration seems to take longer and the VA flight departs glasgow at 2 in the afternoon .

have been reading a couple of threads whereby people have went with MY Travel / Sanford for the 21 nights so hopefully it will be an option. we would probably be fine at MCO but feel a bit nervous.

Am I doing something wrong?
I followed the link , input the holiday details and pressed to book the holiday and no flights where available.:confused3 I was hopeing it would show me the flight upgrade options but it didn't go anywhere.:scratchin Do you think this is onbly over the phone at the moment.

Ali, I don't see why they could not offer you the three weeks, they must fly from Glasgow every week so should be ok. I know that at Belfast My travel offer a weekly service. I know what you mean about MCO being big, I am sure they would have staff to help though. I always think its best going for the "stress free" option, otherwise it can spoil the start of the holiday. At least at SFB your DS knows what to expect.

Tony, can't understand why it's only offering flights until the end of March - thw winter schedules usually run from the end of October until the end of March and the summer schedules from April through October. I got an email from them last week saying the had a summer 08 preview brochure - this should include May 08 :confused3 I would try calling them.:) Let us know how you get on.

:woohoo: Booked it and the WDW planning dvd arrived today:woohoo:
