8. What is your favorite place you have stayed at and why? It does not have to be on property::

9. What is your least favorite place you have stayed at and why? (It doesn't necessarily have to be a bad place, it's just that maybe out of all your list of favorites, this would be your least favorite)::

We have stayed at BLT, Poly, CR, WL, Dixie Landings (back in the day) and POP. Once the pic was taken, she then told the girls what the things were... petrified hippo poo. So she said when they call each other a "poo poo head", they could really mean it!

Me, I loved it when we ran into PUSH on our first trip(haven't been able to find him since), but it was totally random, had never heard of him before. We had a wonderful interaction with him, he commented on my hair, the girls matching shirts, the fact that we were from Canada..it went on and on..at the time I didn't realize how special this would seem...but every year our youngest wants to find PUSH...we REALLY need to find him this time so she can say hi again!!

edit: we've seen him a few times since, but never got any interaction at all...

Oh, fun! PUSH and DeVine are two I've never seen... would love to, though!

It's funny because I didn't ride it until our second trip in 2009 and until I did I just thought it was like a show or something? But then we rode and I fell in love!! I just love the smells and sounds and the animatronics...I think I was made to be a Disney fan!:rotfl: But when we rode in Jan it kept stopping over and over and over again..even I have a limit as to how long I want to smell that fake fire...

I think almost everyone here is from the Oct thread....:grouphug::dance3:;)

I WISH I was going in October ! :sad1:

I loved reading about your DCL experience. I'm still on the fence about wanting to do it ... Never cruised before.

General life updates....

It's almost June  and the school year is winding down here. We have school until almost the last day of June. June 28th is the last day of classes to be exact!:guilty: Sucks having the whole month of June gone that way, but there you go.

June is going to be a pretty busy month for us, though so it will go pretty quickly. This weekend is Rapunzel's dance recital, but she has her last class tomorrow night, then rehearsal all day Sat and the recital at 2 on Sun so there goes a whole weekend. Usually I work weekends, but I took off Fri and Sun nights and will have to call in for Sat night. I will be working tonight and Mon nights only this week. Which I am thankful for because I wouldn't be sleeping otherwise.

Then Ferb and I are on vacation the week of the 10th...actually because of our days off, Ferb is off the 10th to the 18th and I have off the 11th to the 21st (I took an extra day off without pay to make sure I had as many days with Ferb as possible). The plan is to take advantage of the girls still being in school and paint our front door and garage door. That's the plan anyways.:rolleyes1

That week is also Father's Day so we will be spending some time with family over the weekend, not sure who is having what but we will be going somewhere for sure. Living in Canada, we usually don't have people over because of the border...such a pain! They have Ribfest here every Father's Day weekend so we will definitely be fitting that into our plans and a friend is having an open house that weekend as well. Very busy for our family considering we usually miss everyone's parties with our work schedule.

Then of course we have the girls' end of the year trips this month, one is on the 22nd and the other is the 27th. Plus Rapunzel wants to have her Birthday party early (she is a July baby) so her friends from school can come more easily..I think I have her convinced to have that July 3rd though...she wants to see Brave for her party and we need to wait until we can fit it into my work schedule.

Our summer isn't as busy as June is...the girls aren't signed up for any activities. We have tried time and again, but neither of them are interested, and to be honest they spend so much time away at my cousin's house over the summer that they would be missing so many games and or practices that it wouldn't be worth it. Summer is spent mostly at the beach here on Lake Erie and at my cousin's house. She has lot's of woods surrounding her house and an in ground pool so it's like camping but with a nice house to sleep in and indoor plumbing!:thumbsup2 July and August will fly by this way...

In August we have a house rented with my brother the week of the 5th. It's in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY. I am excited for this because we always went camping in the Adirondack's while growing up, and while I don't like camping in practice, I love it in theory and having a house to sleep in will make it easier for me....I don't like bugs!! The house has access to a small sandy beach, a boat dock and has a canoe and a kayak. The best part about it is the fact that my parents, my Brother, Sister in law, and their daughter who will be just one at the time, will all be there!! It'll be great because we all actually like each other and the girls are so excited to play with their baby cousin all week!!

Then before you know it, we'll be buying folders, pencils, paper and getting ready to go back to school in September. I am by no means wishing the summer away, but I know that when it ends we will be okay because we have such an amazing vacation to look forward to!

Now, some not so good plans to talk about....
Ferb's brother is having a baby this summer....:cool1:..that's the good news...the bad news is his brother is paying for tickets for their Mom and step Dad to come from England to visit the baby in the fall. They checked with us to make sure it didn't coincide with our vacation (I almost wish it had), and to make sure also that we could have them to come stay with us for part of the time. I'm not going to go all into the sordid history of this family, but needless to say, there is major stress and drama when it comes to Ferb's Mother and Stepfather. The girls will be so happy to finally be with their Grandparents, and for their sake alone I am dealing with this in a quiet fashion. They will be in Canada from the 4th to the 24th and we will have them come to stay with us for 2 short stints in that time. We leave on the 22nd so if anything this will make the last weeks of waiting go by faster.

But that's it for now...I am not wishing the summer away...but I really hope all of these things make the wait until our WDW vacation move along nicely!

I WISH I was going in October ! :sad1:

I loved reading about your DCL experience. I'm still on the fence about wanting to do it ... Never cruised before.

Our experience was great...it's expensive though and I think it will be a once in a great while type of trip...we are going back in 2013 but I think it may be years before we do it again after that...

Wow, you have the whole summer planned out. At least you'll be keeping busy so your trip will be here before you know it.:thumbsup2

Yay for you and Ferb getting to spend some quality time together.

Hopefully, everything goes alright with the in laws and this those 3 weeks go by quickly.

I guess it does seem like we have the summer planned out, but we are really more go with the flow kind of people. If it wasn't for my Brother and my Cousin we wouldn't have any plans this summer other than to sit on the beach and swim in Lake Erie. But thankfully we do have some cool plans for this summer. What I like the most about summer vacation, even though I have to work most of it, is the down time. No homework, no back packs, no lunches to make...it's such a relief. It looks like we are going to be having a long hot summer this year so the beach will definitely be our destination for most of my weekends.

I was bummed at first when I could only get one week off this summer (new rules at work), but when Ferb got the same week as me in June I realized that we haven't had much alone time lately. So it's going to be nice to have all week with him to get stuff done, go out for lunch and just be together!

As for the In-law situation, well, it's my burden to bear...I know I sound horrible when talking of them, but if you knew even half of what they have done to us...well, you would understand.:sad2: So, I will do my duty to the family and then when we go to WDW the week after, it will be the BEST vacation EVER!!:dance3::yay::cool1:

I don't have any particular attachment to summer right now since DS is not in school yet, so I'm pretty excited for ours to fly by! :rotfl: I only wish we had as much stuff going on as you do to help it along. It's actually for two reasons, one because it's so dang HOT & HUMID I'm ready for that to go away, and of course the most important reason, it gets us closer to October!

Hopefully the visit with your in-laws goes okay. I know personally, there's no way I could handle that kind of extended visit, but I do know exactly what you mean when you kind of wish it overlapped with your trip so you could skip it. I have that same issue coming up for the July 4th holiday, only she made sure to find out what weekend I'd be off to scheduled the get-together then. Yay me.

But yay for a new baby in the family! Those are always fun. :goodvibes

I remember summer felt like it went on forever when the girls were little. It would still be warm enough in Sept to hit the beach and it would be so nice and quiet with everyone back in school...now we need to cram everything in to two short months..so cram we do!:thumbsup2

I don't know how you guys handle that heat and humidity...we get it for a couple of weeks here and we all just about DIE!! I had thought about relocating at some point maybe to Florida, but I don't think we could handle it!

Oh, and that was so thoughtful of your MIL to make sure you guys had special time together.:rolleyes1 I am lucky, at least mine lives in the UK and we have an ocean separating us!;)

We survived the rehearsal day for Rapunzel's dance recital, but can I tell you...What an ordeal?! It was 7 hours long and agonizing! Tomorrow is the recital and my parents are coming to watch and then we will all go out to dinner...chinese!!! YUMMM!!!

Holy cow! Haven't they heard of child labor laws or cruel and unusual punishment for parents?:rotfl2:JK, hope it all well.

Good luck Rapunzel!:goodvibes

Today should only be about 4 hours, 3 for the actual recital and the other for prep and clean up. (makeup, hair..takes almost as long to pull apart and clean off as it does to apply);)
