Boo to You...and Food & Wine Too! - October 26 to November 2, 2012 Updated Post #282

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 18

We left off riding Pirates of the Caribbean at Adventureland. It is fun to ride PotC at the MK where it is a classic ride and all the elders remembered the old PotC before they added Jack Sparrow as part of the ride. They knew that Jack Sparrow wasn’t part of the original PotC when it opened in the 60’s all the way to the mid 2000’s. A lot has changed and they were glad that we were able to ride it that night.

It was past 4pm that day and my DA, DB and I needed to come back later that day for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I forgot after we rode PotC that it was the party night and we needed to get ready. My uncles and aunt didn’t want to come back later that night since they have to buy tickets for the event so we all decided to head on out of the park and go back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort. But before we head on out of the park, I thought that we should go on the WDW Railroad since we are close to the Frontierland station. So we head on over to Frontierland right by Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain to get on the train.

8162005426_a069f71f7b_c.jpg

While we were walking, it was busy around Frontierland.
8161974343_41f41b7028_c.jpg

When we passed by Splash Mountain, the big drop at Splash Mountain was not going on so it was down that afternoon.
8162009194_021b5ea882_c.jpg

Over at BTMRR the wait time was only at 35 minutes which was not that long during that time of the day. But we weren’t planning on riding BTMRR since we needed to head on out of the park and back to the resort.
8162009940_975ac8294d_c.jpg

Now we were at the front of the Frontierland Railroad station. I also said earlier that Splash Mountain was down during that time and the wait times sign doesn’t show anything that day.
8162011786_9f296c6eca_c.jpg

We walked towards the handicapped side since we had the wheelchair and ECV. One of the trains was at the station and from the yellow cars I can tell it was the Roger E. Broggie Engine #3. I can tell that the trains have their own excursion cars when they are at the park. The Walter E. Disney Engine #1 uses the red excursion cars, The Lilly Belle Engine #2 with the green excursion cars that isn’t used for the guests during the park hours except for the welcoming when the park opens, and the Roy O. Disney Engine #4 with the blue excursion cars. I knew that we won’t be able to get on the Roger E. Broggie and will have to wait for the next train.
8161981037_2378d226c1_c.jpg

We got to the Frontierland station and we waited for the next train that was arriving at the station.
8161985777_dca0106653_c.jpg

While we were waiting, I my group were talking to each other while I was getting a pic of BTMRR from the Frontierland station.
8162022634_7fd90b3e18_c.jpg

We waited around 5 minutes until the next train arrived at the station. The train that was approaching was the Roy O. Disney Engine #4 with the blue excursion car set.

8161995881_38d069a8c6_c.jpg

Since there were some handicapped people on board the Roy O. Disney, we just left one of the wheelchairs at the Frontierland station since we couldn’t get it on board. But the conductor at the station gave us a fold up wheelchair so we can use it after we get off the train.
8162033878_aa97a7f9e4_c.jpg

The train left the station and we were on our way over to the New Fantasyland station. We were passing right by BTMRR while on the train.

Passing right by an Indian Village
8162045958_966ed2d0ff_c.jpg

We were now approaching the New FL station where it looks very nice than the old Toontown station.
8162052688_779f1f9179_c.jpg

We didn’t disembark at the FL station since we are going back to MS so we can leave the park that day. We had to wait awhile since the Roy O. Disney was taking on water at the station.

After it was all filled up, we head on to the MS station.
8162053860_945c22496c_c.jpg

We now approached the MS station which is out final destination during that day.
8162059302_5cf9086fde_c.jpg

When we got off the train and head on down towards Main Street Town Square, it was a little busy that day where it was getting ready for MNSSHP. There were already some people in the park with the MNSSHP wristbands on and people all dressed up for the party. So we didn’t have much time to relax here while my aunt, DB and I have to come back later that day for the party.
8162060214_44f1aafd8c_c.jpg

8162029787_72b102c83c_c.jpg

We went on out of the park. It was already past 5pm that day and the party was about to start in about an hour and a half at 7pm. So we needed to head on out of the MK and back to the resort to get ready that night. The three of us could have stayed at the MK that night but we didn’t have out MNSSHP tickets and I needed to get my tripod since I was planning on videotaping the parade and fireworks that night.
8162064316_20a47a4a79_c.jpg

Some of the turnstiles were used for MNSSHP while the other turnstiles are for the regular entrance or exit the park.
8162065092_4167a08401_c.jpg

We head on over to the Express line station where the monorail goes straight towards the Transportation & Ticket Center.
8162034605_ecd900c507_c.jpg

We missed getting on Monorail Green so we had to wait for the next monorail which was Monorail Teal
8162067772_cd6d7fd457_c.jpg

We got on Monorail Teal and on our way over to the T&TC. It was not that full during the trip since we were heading on back hope that day. When we got over to the T&TC, there were a lot of people that were waiting to get on the monorail since most of the people were all dressed up for MNSSHP. There were a lot of adults and kids all dressed up for the party in costumes.

The three of us knew that we didn’t have a lot of time that day so we head on out of the T&TC and back the cars so we can get back.

It was around 6pm when we got back to the resort and the three of us didn’t have enough time to relax where we had to get back to the MK for MNSSHP. This is what I have been waiting ever since we booked this trip where I can compare this party to the other two parties that I have attended in the past. The parties that I have attended in the past at the MK and DL were Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the MK during the Holiday season and Mickey’s Halloween Party at DL during the Halloween season. I have heard from others that this is the most popular parade at the MK over MVMCP. I am looking forward to go to the party that night while my DB was kind enough to come with me so I won’t be alone at the party. Also my aunt who came at the last second since my DB GF couldn’t make it due to family having health issues.

This was going to be a very interesting party and I will more from MNSSHP on the next post.

Happy New Year Everyone party:

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 19

On our last update, we just left the Magic Kingdom after a long day at the park where we got to do a lot of different attraction that day. The highlight of the day at the MK was the New Fantasyland where we got to eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant and ride Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid which the new FL is not open yet to the public. We got to go on rides like PeopleMover, Carousel of Progress, It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean and the WDW Railroad. We all had a great time going on all of those attractions and eating at the restaurant that day. Now my aunt, DB and I are ready to head on back to the MK for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

We all got back to the Sheraton Vistana Resort around 6pm that day. My aunt, DB and I have tickets to MNSSHP that night while the others didn’t have them. We asked if they wanted to come with us that night to the party but they are not interested to go back to the MK and pay for another ticket. They decided to have dinner at Giordano’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria on South Apopka Vineland Road right close to WDW going towards Downtown Disney. Since we have some time until the party, we all went together to have dinner at Giordano’s.

We left the Sheraton Vistana Resort after getting our stuff for tonight which was the tickets and tripod so I can videotape the fireworks and parade. I know that it was cutting it close when we go to the MK for MNSSHP so I can get my spots for the fireworks and parade but it was polite that we have dinner together.

Good thing that Giodano’s restaurant was really close to our resort where it was on the same road and it only took 5 minutes to get to the restaurant with traffic.

Now were entering Giordano’s restaurant
8244005116_c391811735_c.jpg

It was a fine restaurant which was an Italian theme place. We have ordered the legendary pizza stuff pies which were a pepperoni pizza and the broccoli and toasted garlic pizza. I only got a picture of the pepperoni pizza.
8244007052_9eb748e52b_c.jpg

They were really good and we were glad that we were able to have dinner with our other parties.

After we finished eating our dinner, it was 6:30pm and it was time to head on over to the MK for MNSSHP. The other decided to go shopping at the Premium Outlet Malls around the area right by Highway 4. The three of us knew that the party had already started at 4pm when we left that day and it just begun at 7pm. So we drove from the restaurant to the Transportation & Ticket Center.

We got to the T&TC parking lot around 7:10pm and we were parked in the Villain parking lot. When we were waiting for the tram to pick us up to the T&TC, there were people dressed up for MNSSHP. There were some great costumes by the guests while we were waiting.
8162038845_914de53e9b_c.jpg

When we got to the T&TC, there were a lot of people in the queue for the Express Monorail line to the MK.
8162072924_991c33e515_c.jpg

We went through the Express line since it would be the fastest to get to the MK even though it was busy on that side. At least it wasn’t that busy that morning where we rode the Resort line than the Express line.

It was around 6:50pm when we got to the front entrance of the MK. There were a lot of people leaving that night and coming in for the party.
8162075962_9562fab658_c.jpg

When we went through the MNSSHP turnstile, we were given the MNSSHP wristband and a bag for trick or treating that night. Just like from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party wristbands which has the logo of the party, the MNSSHP has the same thing.
8162083386_f72afee675_c.jpg

The MS station was light up with green lights which is during the party than during the regular hours.
8162045815_9251b93e73_c.jpg

We were now in MS Town Square for the party and the first thing we did was head on over to the Emporium to find the merchandise for the MNSSHP. In the past when I attended MVMCP, I got the merchandise later during the party and they were sold out. I was hoping that there would be some merchandise available if we go to the store first thing.

It was a little busy around MS TS where a lot of people were dressed up with their costumes. There were a lot of great Disney costumes where I have seen a lot of young girls dressed up as Disney Princesses, Mickey and Minnie outfits, people dressed up as pirates, Tinkerbell, etc. The only thing I wore was my Halloween Screams t-shirt where I bought it during Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland.
8162048897_d52dd606e7_c.jpg

There were some pumpkins in MS that wasn’t here during the regular hours that day.
8162049955_38ebc675de_c.jpg

We had to show our wristbands to the CM’s that we were allowed to be in the park for the party which is standard where they don’t want guests that don’t have a wristband to stay.

Next we head on over to the Emporium to look for any of the party merchandise. When we were in the store and found the merchandise, there was only kids party t-shirts which was left. They didn’t have any adult t-shirts or MNSSHP pins at the store. I asked if they have any of those at the other stores across the MK and they told me that they are sold out. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have any MNSSHP merchandise for the adults during that night. I also understand that these were the last few parties of this season and they must have sold most of them during the first few parties.

After leaving the Emporium, we started to head on over to Liberty Square to get a spot for Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. The spot is right by the Hall of Presidents where the parade moves down towards MS. This was a great spot where you can see the parade coming straight at you until it turns on over to MS Hub. I want to thank TK (tksbaskets) for showing me this spot for the parade when she have attended MNSSHP in 2007. At first I was going to get a spot at MS but those spots will be filled out really quickly. So this was the next best option and I was planning on trying this spot for the parade and later for HalloWishes fireworks was at MS where you can get Cinderella Castle in the video.

So the three of us head on over to LS to get the spot. While on the way, MS buildings were all light up during the party which was neat. They projected ghosts, skulls, pumpkins, etc. while changing colors.
8162084446_06169dfe04_c.jpg

8162085546_86e09520ec_c.jpg

Cinderella Castle with a blue/greenish color that matches the villains colors
8162053949_4d6cc11335_c.jpg

We passed through the Hub and I had to get a few pictures while we were in the area. It was really busy around the Hub where guests are staking out the spots for the fireworks and Villain’s Dance & Mingle show right in front of Cinderella Castle.

I miss some of these statues at the Hub during the day and I was lucky to get a picture of them during MNSSHP.
8162088336_7de799d56d_c.jpg

8162056999_c5a582f9ac_c.jpg

We then head on over towards Liberty Square for the spot and it was quite a walk where we had to show our wristbands to the CM’s to say that we were here for the party. A nice look at Cinderella Castle from LS bridge.
8162090730_c586503220_c.jpg

When we got over to LS, there was some benches available right by the corner of the Hall of Presidents. We were lucky to get a bench spot right at the spot for the parade. Now I can tell why TK said that this was a great spot to watch the parade when it comes straight at you instead of seeing it from the side of the parade route. I have watch parades coming straight at me from DL and this was a unique spot to watch the parade since there was barely anyone in the area. So this is a great spot with little wait time to be able to see the parade from a prime spot that is not at MS where you will have to wait hours.

Down towards Frontierland
8162092502_44e3190e17_c.jpg

Down towards LS and over to the Hub
8162061077_2e7dfe5b23_c.jpg

In my experience of watching parades at the Disney parks is that if you try to watch them from MS you will have to wait a long time while you can get a fine spot like this area or at DL where you can wait less than an hour at It’s a Small World Plaza.

While we were waiting in the area, I wanted to go around Frontierland to see the Trick or Treat stations. I knew that it was going to be a busy night but I didn’t thought that the queues for the stations would be that long. So I went by myself while my aunt and DB decided to wait at the spot for the 8:15pm parade which is less than an hour.

Just like DL MHP there were lamp posts that had Mickey pumpkin lights
8162094924_e20ebcbf25_c.jpg

The buildings at Frontierland had colorful lights on them during the party.
8162096714_fc3916734b_c.jpg

I went as far as towards the area of BTMRR and Splash Mountain where I got in line at one of the trick or treat stations. BTMRR had a pirate skull image on the mountain

There is one of the trick or treat stations at Splash Mountain queue area
8162098070_6afcabda06_c.jpg

This way to Br’er Rabbit’s Laughin’ Place Candy Patch which was quite busy that night. I was foolish to go in the queue to get candy and it took quite some time to go through the queue to get the candy.
8162066679_c934a1546b_c.jpg

8162100242_5e09fb6017_c.jpg

After getting some candy at Br’er Rabbit’s Laughin’ Place Candy Patch, I head on back to my aunt and DB so we can get ready for the parade at 8:15pm. While on the way, it was getting a little busy around Frontierland as we are getting closer to the parade.
8162068441_e4d829602f_c.jpg

I kept walking down Frontierland seeing all the Halloween decorations around the area including the buildings which were showing different color of light on them.

That’s it for this post and I will have more from MNSSHP night.

That's a nice spot to watch the parade from. Glad TK told you about it. Can't wait to see how the pictures came out.

And you're such an incredibly polite person, Bret! On the internet and IRL. I'm not sure I would have been patient or gracious enough to sit through dinner, albeit with family, whilst I had a ticket to MNSSHP!! Kudos to you. :goodvibes

Brett, your pics of MNSSHP are getting me excited for our trip in Oct/Nov. My niece and nephew will love it.

It was a very nice spot to watch the parade with little wait. I would have easily done this spot during MVMCP in 2010 and 2011. I was glad that TK told us about this spot.

Thank you PiO. When we were eating at Giordano's that day, I wanted to finish up at the restaurant and head on over to the MK for MNSSHP and get my spot for the parade. I didn't want to push my family so I can get to the park for my spot. I also know that this trip was a bonus for me, my DB and aunt since my aunts and uncles wanted to experience Orlando. Luckily we didn't have to wait that long at the restaurant and got to the park before 7pm.

Thank you Angela. glad that you are enjoying the pictures from MNSSHP. You will love the parade and you should think about this spot if you do plan on seeing Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween parade with little wait time.

The next post will be up shortly.

Thanks for the parade tip it sounds like a great spot since my family never likes to wait very long before a parade.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 20

On our last update, we were back at the Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It was busy that night where a lot of the guests were all dressed up for the party while the three of us are not even close to being dressed up. But it was a fine day where it wasn’t that cold like those other days at the parks. We got the parade spot that TK (tksbaskets) have told me about right at the corner of the Hall of Presidents area. This was a fine spot to watch the parade from. While my DB and aunt were waiting at the spot, I went around Frontierland to look at the treat stations to see how long the lines were and they were quite long that night. Now I am heading on back to the spot to meet up with my aunt and my DB. Now it’s time to get back to the spot.

I just left around Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad area where one of the trick or treat station was at and it was really a long wait to get candy. I was walking on back where it was started to get a little busy around the area for the 8:15pm Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween parade. I was really looking forward to seeing this parade where it is an actual parade than a cavalcade at Disneyland Mickey’s Halloween Party and a little different from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas parade during the Holiday season.

The rope area are up and there were people getting spots on the parade route at Frontierland so I knew that it was almost time for the first parade.
8162070129_29fc378cda_c.jpg

While I was walking down right by the Rivers of America, one of the treat stations was right by the Liberty Square Riverboat dock area. But it was also busy in that area so I decided not to head over to that treat station.
8162103832_998d2e97d9_c.jpg

I got back to the spot and most of the area around LS right by the parade route were mostly all full so it was almost time for the parade. So I stayed around the area until it was time for the parade. My aunt and DB were just relaxing on the bench and we got a front row spot for the parade.
8162106020_2a9b666735_c.jpg

When I got back to the area, I set up my tripod and put my video camera on the tripod while I carried my DSLR camera in my hands so I can get pictures of the parade.

The 8:15pm Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween parade started and we were all standing up while some people around us just sit so others can see the parade.

The first part of the parade was so important because at the beginning of the parade is the Headless Horseman which rides a black horse. A lot of people say that this is the best part of the parade of seeing the Headless Horseman riding down the streets of Frontierland and Liberty Square.

8162081773_09396db737_c.jpg

After the Headless Horseman passed by, now it was time for the rest of the parade and here are pictures from Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween parade. I knew that this parade will be better than DL Cavalcade parade during MHP. Now pictures from MBtyHP.

That’s it for this post and I will have more from Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween parade.

Hi Bret,
I'm so glad you liked the parade viewing spot. You sure got some great pictures. I especially like the picture of the riverboat before the parade started. Very nice!

I thought the headless horseman was a great start to the parade. Many people miss this as it's before the parade starts. Your pictures of him were outstanding!

Hi TK,

Thank you very much about this spot. That's why I like the DIS Boards so much with all the information that I don't know or can get on other websites. With only a little wait and a great spot, it was a perfect spot to watch the parade. The Liberty Riverboat was a very nice picture with the glare on the river.

The Headless Horseman was a great start for the parade. Some people around me were trying to get their phones out quickly when the Headless Horseman went by. I do appreciate a lot.

Doing these trip reports including my Holiday trip report on the DL thread is a lot of work and I have my upcoming trip to DL in 10 days which is coming up so quickly. I was also going to ask you about your WDW trip and how it went?

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 21

On our last update we were at Liberty Square watching the 8:15pm Mickey Boo to You Halloween parade. This was during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party while my aunt, DB and I were watching this parade. I know that this parade is way better than Mickey’s Cavalcade during Disneyland Mickey’s Halloween Party. The day was nice and we got to see some of the floats and the characters dressed up during the Halloween season. Let’s get back to the parade.

The Peter Pan scene just passed by and the next one was Pirates

Thank you Angela.

Here is a picture from TK (tksbaskets)that shows the MNSSHP map that will tell you where the spot is. It is actually right close to the Liberty Square Market right by the HoP.

Awesome! Thanks for posting the map, I've saved it on my laptop.

Just catching up on your parade shots. They are great! love the Headless Horseman. You did amazing with that shot.

I love this parade. It is so much fun. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Did you enjoy it? (I guess you'll tell us at the end....so I can wait for the answer).

Thank you PiO. Some of the photos turned out well while some of them didn't. The 35mm Nikkor lens does make a big difference during the nighttime shots.

Glad that you are enjoying Mickey's Boo to You Halloween Parade. I can tell you that this was an amazing parade and way better than Disneyland 'Mickey's Costume Party' Cavalcade which is not a parade. But I really like MVMCP Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade which I am a Christmas person than a Halloween person. But it was a great parade to watch and worth seeing that night.

The next post will be up shortly.

Day 5 – October 30, 2012 – Part 23

On our last update we were at Liberty Square watching the 8:15pm Mickey Boo to You Halloween parade. This was during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party while my aunt, DB and I were watching this parade. I know that this parade is way better than Mickey’s Cavalcade during Disneyland Mickey’s Halloween Party. The day was nice and we got to see some of the floats and the characters dressed up during the Halloween season. Half of the parade was through and let’s get back to the rest of the parade.

The next scene during the parade was the Candy scene with Pluto in a toy dump truck with the Goofy’s Candy Co. Logo

The finale of the parade was Goofy with the giant candy float with gumball machines and a lot of different variety of candies.

After watching the parade, this was a very unique parade with a lot of different Halloween theme floats which matched the Halloween party at the MK. I really like Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween parade but I still like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party which is Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade which is more interesting. Because that I am a Holiday person who like to go to DL during the Holiday season than the Halloween season. Overall it was a great parade which is not that scary as it looks with the Headless Horseman at the beginning of the parade.

When the parade was over in our area at Liberty Square, I packed all my equipment and we followed behind the parade since we are planning on going to MS to get a spot between the Hub and Casey’s Coke Corner to get a great spot for HalloWishes fireworks. Since we are coming from LS, we are hoping that it won’t be that busy around MS for the fireworks.

While following the parade it stopped at the bridge and we were wondering why it had stopped. So we went through the other way on the other side of LS to go to the Hub while the bridge was full with the floats.

When we got over to the Hub, the parade was just about to pass us and we were now waiting close to Coke Corner and the Hub. Most of the people that were there for the parade have left or stayed in the area. Most of them left the area while we were able to get a sidewalk spot for the fireworks.

We had to wait about 45 minutes until it was time for HalloWishes fireworks at 9:30pm. While we were waiting in MS, I took a few pictures of the area while we were killing time that night.

The castle was changing colors that night

Over at Cinderella Castle, the 8:50pm Disney Villains Mix & Mingle started

It was almost time for HalloWishes fireworks at 9:30pm while most of the people around us started to stand up and look at Cinderella Castle.
