Awwww...well you did keep it a surprise for a very long time and the reactions you got from your kids were very very excited ones so that is fantastic!!! You guys can now plan this trip together and have a really really great time doing it!!!

The kids are so excited to go with their cousins! DD is making lists of all the rides and such that she wants to do with her cousins!

It will make for fun Christmas conversations and planning

No, no we will not be allowed to utter a word about it over christmas. My other sister and her son aren't going and we don't want my nephew to get upset.

Of course I secretly planned the trip so she couldn't go. I know that sounds terrible BUT this is sister is, putting nicely and gently, a bit much. She is constantly surrounded by drama, most of which is self created, and everything has to revolve around her and her son. If they went on the this trip it would end badly, I assure you.

My sister kinda hijacked our 06 trip and was in WDW the sametime as us. It was interesting to say the least.

The jan trip will definately make the kids' christmas a little merrier! I almost forgot you had back to back trips. How great!

They're so keyed up for it They're so excited to go with their cousins, it's too cute!!

No, no we will not be allowed to utter a word about it over christmas. My other sister and her son aren't going and we don't want my nephew to get upset.

It actually wasn't too bad. The worst part was when we had dinner at Chef Mickey's to celebrate Johnny's 4th b-day. She had a little too much wine and talked the entire time, nonstop, I don't think she took a breath or a bite!! I had such a headache after that!!

I know though that if she went with us in Jan it would be bad!! When we all go to the fair near my parents house it's a HUGE exercise in patients and keeping a level head under pressure,

I'm sure there are families much, much worse!

Way to go changing the flights and saving some $$$ - and super that you were able to get another Chef Mickey's ADR to replace it. Keep Le Cellier for sure, hold onto the confirmation number in both fists!!!

i'm sorry the surprise was sort of ruined but i'm glad you don't have to try to keep it a secret anymore. And as to finding out about the cousins, at least you can smile knowing your DD is one smart little cookie!!

I was so happy to get another CM ADR! There is no way in the world I'm giving up that Le Cellier ADR!

I know, I know that's a whole lotta stuff!! LOL!!!

We have 52 days to go until this trip!! For some reason I'm freaking out a little inside!! I think it's a combination of many things.

First, and foremost, being that I'm praying it goes off without a hitch!! 10 people to think about is a lot to think about!!

Second, being that I'm soooooo excited to see my nieces and nephew enjoy WDW!

Third, I'm super excited to go home to AKV!!! I can't wait!!!!

Fourth, I know once Thanksgiving comes the time is going to fly! With all the Christmas fun, then my b-day, then New Years etc it's going to be here like tomorrow and not 52 days!

WOW!! I get that nervous excitement everytime I think about it!

Now onto the bag!! I took my pink baggalini bag on our trip a few weeks ago and it worked out well. But it was a little bit to small for my needs at this point! I'd love to be able to get away with a tiny little bag just for a few bare essentials but with 3 little ones, one of whom is still in diapers, I need something a little bigger.

I thought about taking the backpack that went with us on our March 08 and Jan 09 trips. But that I think is a little too big for us now. I may throw it in the suitcase just in case.

I think I'm going to take this...

It's my Vera Bradley Bali Gold Mailbag. I LOVE it, I've had it since the summer and I think it will be just the right thing for the trip!

I'm also thinking of asking my MIL, who is dying to know what to get me for christmas, to get me the Bali Gold Super Tote to use as a carry-on since our rolling bag that we got at the World of Disney NYC met it's maker not long ago. A girls gotta match right?

Last but not least, next year

When started planning the Jan trip I had originally asked MIL and FIL if they'd like to join us. But that was right around the time SIL found out about her upcoming arrival. MIL doesn't want to go away so soon after SIL has the baby! Can't blame her!! So the trip morphed into this extravaganza that it's become (note to self, keep extravaganza in mind for TR title. I like that word!)

I told MIL to think about Dec 2010 for our next trip in that case. She seemed to like the idea! SIL and I talked a few months ago about her and her DH wanting to take the baby on his or her first trip the end of 2010.

SIL didn't want to go in Dec because the baby is due 12/20 and she didn't want to plan a trip for the month of Dec because the baby will be turning 1 and she didn't want to take the arriving grandchild away from the other grandparents on his or her first birthday.

Ummm, but December is a whole month, right?

She mentioned November 2010. OK, but I have 2 reasons not to want to go in November of 2010. 1 being that my sister and her family (the one who isn't going with us on this trip) are going back to WDW in Nov 2010 and I'm not going down that road again. 2 being I know that SIL's best friend and her family will be in WDW for a week in November of 2010. That is a road I'll never go down and can promise you with the utmost certainty that DH won't either!

If we could plan around those 2 things, Thanksgiving (not doing that at WDW) and the MVMCP dates I'd go for it. Me thinks that won't happen.

All I want in life is to go to WDW in December!! I kid you not!! DH knows it!! I want to see allllll the decorations, I want to see the giant, beautiful tree in WL! I want to go to MVMCP!!!

We've seen the decorations, last January. But, somehow it wasn't the same. Don't get me wrong, it was magical, but I know it will be infinitely more magical before christmas. Before we've kind of gotten sick of the whole thing!

My birthday is in December. December 28th to be exact and I really hate my birthday. I know that sounds terrible but I do.

Growing up my birthday was always an afterthought. Christmas was always a big deal in our house. A living room FULL of presents, a house full of family and all sorts of good fun!! After that everyone was kind of exhausted and my birthday was kinda blah! Not to mention all the christmas/birthday presents. DH has tired to make my birthday special, sometimes he suceeds, sometimes not.

One year DH covered over the christmas tree with a sheet and put up all sorts of birthday decorations so it was my birthday and not christmas

Last year we went out to dinner with his parents, they picked the restaurant and no one ever asked me where I wanted to go

Ok, pity party over

Really what I'm trying to say is that I want a little extra magic in my birthday month!! is that too much to ask for?


So, I've decided that I will be in WDW in December of 2010! I'd like it to be Saturday 12/4 - Saturday 12/11 but I'll be flexible

Does this make me a terrible person?! Maybe I'm being selfish but this is what I reallllllllllllllllly want!!! More then anything in the world!!!! I'd take this over more DVC points in a heartbeat, don't tell DH that though

Hopefully I can work this trip out and into existance!!! If we want to stay at AKV I can book in Jan. I'd get a 2 bedroom for myself, DH, the kids and MIL and FIL and SIL, her DH and the baby will stay in their own room. Not because of us but because BIL wants it that way

My idea is to book the 2 bedroom AKV and then wait for the 7 month window for resorts that aren't your home resort to open and see if we can get VWL

Not sure, but it will be interesting to see how everything plays out!

I'm going to stop rambling now!! Hope all is well with all of you ​

Having a birthday near Christmas, i've always thought, has to suck - so why shouldn't you plan something wonderful for yourself? It's not like you're going to go to WDW all by yourself - are you?
