Boo to Two, Kelley and Missy's Joint TR! Update! 3/28

Our buzzer went off shortly thereafter and we were taken to our table. If you were looking at the buffet, our table was on the left side of the restaurant.

The characters had just finished on our side, so our waiter said we’d have time to go get food. I had contacted the food services to ask about getting puffed french toast without cinnamon, they said to ask my waiter and he should be able to bring me out a plate. He did!

Here’s what I ate. Everything on the buffet was hot and fresh. And I enjoyed everything I ate, especially the puffed french toast and the cheesy potatoes.

Here are Franklin’s plates.

He really liked the omelet, but the chocolate Mickey waffle he tried? Not so much. Soon, we had visitors!

Then we had a visit from Mike, Kelley and the boys, who had been having their birthday breakfast on the other side of the restaurant. It was time to give the boys their birthday cards and tell them that they’d get to pick out the birthday presents here at the park!

We paid the bill and were brought over to see the two friends who hadn’t been by our table yet.

One more picture and then we were off for a last morning of MK fun!

Sad that your trip report is coming to an end, but enjoying each update very much!

Thanks Joyce! I have to thank you for something else, too. I showed Franklin how Ben had joined Disboards and was chiming in on your TR and PTR and it finally convinced him to join! He just posted over on my PTR for the first time. :yay:

What a wonderfully magic morning so far (and it has barely started)! I haven't done the pre-opening breakfast at CP, but it is definitely on the bucket list. Love the photos of the empty park. We have had lunch at CP, but never breakfast- food looks really good! That's cool that Kelley's family was at the restaurant at the same time, but you still had your own spaces.

The only problem with the character breakfasts is that there are no photopass photographers to take pictures of the whole group together, be it a family or a couple.

I love Crystal Palace! I'm always so jealous of people who get pictures with Eeyore, we never do! :rotfl:

Mmm, I love the puffed french toast!

Gorgeous morning MK pictures, of course! I love Crystal Palace, the place is so pretty and the food is de-lish.

I knew the park would fairly empty that early, but I had no idea it would be THAT empty. It was really magical.

Day 5 was Ryan and Jack's actual birthday, so Franklin and I wanted to give their family space to celebrate on their own. But we got to do plenty of celebrating with them anyway!

This was our first character meal and we learned that if you finish your meal and you haven't seen any of the characters, you should just ask any of the character handlers and they'll take you to see whichever characters you're missing!

I really loved CP too! The food was really good and I loved the light airy feeling of the restaurant, it's so different from any of the other Disney restaurants.

Monday 10/17

Ryan and Jack are 3 years old!!! :dance3:

Photo0558FourBySix.jpg

I woke the boys up this morning by singing “Happy Birthday” to them. I still can’t even believe that my little babies are 3!

I packed everything up while Mike dressed himself and the boys, and then we said good-bye to our hotel room! We dropped our suitcases off with the DME desk, and took off to the Magic Kingdom for our 8:20am Crystal Palace ADR.

It was amazing being in the park before the masses! We took full advantage by getting b-day pictures from every single photopass photographer we passed. Here are my adorable 3 year olds, enjoying their special day at Disney World!!

After their photo shoot, we finally made our way over to CP....

IMG_3377.jpg

We checked in, and were quickly seated. We ate a huge breakfast, in fact we didn't eat a meal again until later that evening at the airport!

Mine and Mike's favorite was the puffed French toast. SOOOOO delicious! Ryan and Jack’s favorite was the chocolate Mickey face waffles.

IMG_3381.jpg

Ryan enjoyed meeting all of the characters. He enthusiastically hugged each one. Jack preferred to keep the table between himself and everyone else.

Ryan and Tigger!
IMG_3380.jpg

Ryan loves Pooh!
IMG_3382.jpg

And, what's breakfast without a birthday cupcake? :thumbsup2
IMG_3385.jpg

IMG_3386.jpg

So with our bellies full, we set out to enjoy our last few hours in the Magic Kingdom!!

Then after breakfast it was time for more rides! We hit up all of their favorites:

Dumbo (thank you to Frank-a-lin for these awesome Dumbo ride pics)

Then we had birthday Mickey ice cream
IMG_3397.jpg

And finally.... a birthday nap
IMG_3409.jpg

They slept all the way back to ASMo, and then through the transfer to the DME, and all the way to the airport!

Oh and I have to say - Disney really goes all out – I even got a Mickey shaped blister!
IMG_3412.jpg

Overall, it was a wonderful, magnificent, MAGICAL first family trip. The boys still talk about it all the time, and I can’t wait to plan another trip!!! Thank you to everyone that read along and commented

I am still here and loving it all! :goodvibes

This just might be the cutest picture EVER. Those big boys did Kali! I can't drag my 4-year old on it...

And what a perfect birthday at the Magic Kingdom. Beautiful pics on Main Street!

Missy - the pictures from the CR lounge gave me chills...I can only imagine how awesome that would be! It's like your own private dessert party! Love it!

Thank you Brook! :goodvibes

The boys had so much fun on Kali. They squealed and laughed the whole time! I love that ride too, it's a great way to cool off on a hot AK day!

They did have a perfect birthday :cloud9: Even now when they talk about their birthday, they say "We were at Disney when we turned 3" Now hopefully they won't think this is an every year birthday treat... :lmao:

Love, Love, Love the pictures of your family and the boys as you are approaching Crystal Palace! Sounds like you had a great breakfast and a fantastic last morning in the MK. Happy Birthday indeed!

I really enjoyed this report!

Dee

PS- A blister with mouse ears??? You never know where you are going to find one of those hidden Mickeys!

Thank you Dee! I admit I felt a bit silly stopping at EVERY photo pass person, but I definitely think it paid off. I have lots of pics of my b-day boys! And the Crystal Palace was by far my favorite breakfast. I am definitely going back whenever we book our next trip!

Yes, the Mickey blister was totally ridiculous!! I laughed super hard about that. Who woulda thought?!? :)

And thank you so much for reading along and always commenting! :goodvibes

Glad you're still here, just in time for the home stretch! Watching the fireworks from the lounge was amazing. You're totally right, it was like our very own dessert party. The CMs were so great about making sure everyone had everything we wanted/needed -- pure Disney magic.

When we left breakfast, it was just after rope drop. The masses had already made their way down Main Street and disappeared into the park. We made our way through the hub and castle.

DSC7680-L.jpg

We were on a Dumbo dash! It was time for Franklin to spend some time with his favorite character and little Dumbo was getting his first ride on big Dumbo. How metta!

DSC7691-L.jpg

Soon we were strapped in and ready for flight!

DSC7696-L.jpg

DSC7701-L.jpg

DSC7702-L.jpg

Even little Dumbo was ready for take-off.

DSC7705-L.jpg

The flight showed us how much progress they’ve made on Fantasyland. I can’t wait to see how different it looks next week.

DSC7720-L.jpg

DSC7722-L.jpg

The lines in Fantasyland were really long at that point. This was the only day of the trip where we’d gone against crowd calendar advice and boy were we paying for it now. It was the only time we encountered wall-to-wall people. So with little we wanted to wait for in Fantasyland, we detoured to the Emporium to look for a pillowpet we wanted to get for Tanner.

But there was a little celebration going on that blocked us from crossing the street.

DSC7741-L.jpg

DSC7742-L.jpg

We finally got to cross the street and we ended up buying him a Tigger, which he loves napping on now!

It was getting pretty warm out by then, so we headed to Main Street Bakery to grab a soda. We texted Kelley to let her know where we were. They joined us and we headed back to the Emporium, it was time to let Ryan and Jack pick out their birthday presents.

The hustle and bustle of the week was really catching up with all of us at that point, so we decided to go for leisurely ride on the PeopleMover.

DSC7763-L.jpg

DSC7765-L.jpg

The lights were on in Space Mountain when we glided through, that is one crazy jumble of metal.

DSC7767-L.jpg

DSC7774-L.jpg

And then we took a trip back to yesteryear on Carousel of Progress.

DSC7777-L.jpg

DSC7787-L.jpg

Some of us were more tired than others.

DSC7798-L.jpg

Sorry Mike! The picture was too good to pass up. And CoP is kinda the perfect place for a Disney nap. Next, it was time for a big kids’ ride, Space Mountain. Mike and Kel went first, so Franklin and I took another spin on the PeopleMover with the boys.

DSC7814-L.jpg

DSC7818-L.jpg

Then it was our turn on the dark coaster. Even after our big breakfast, we were pretty hungry again. So we split from Mike, Kelley, Ryan and Jack and said we’d see them at the airport. Franklin and I knew exactly where we wanted to eat for lunch: Casey’s!

We each got a cup of corndog nuggets and fries. And if you mosey over to today’s chapter in my pre-trip report, you’ll understand why I was so happy with this lunch choice.

DSC7819-L.jpg

Before we knew it, it was time to make our way back to the hotel to pick up the Magical Depress.

DSC7825-L.jpg

I had a few quick stops to make back at CR before we could leave. I wanted to buy a Contemporary Resort pin from Fantasia and we had two leftover snack credits I wanted to use on vanilla fudge at BVG. We also stopped into the Tower Club lounge to say goodbye. The CMs there loaded up baggies and cups of snacks for us and Kelley's family on the plane, they were just so awesome to us all week long!

Soon that depressing time was upon us: It was time to say goodbye to Disney.

DSC7829-L.jpg

We had a fairly uneventful trip to the airport and then back home to Virginia.

DSC7831-L.jpg

DSC7832-L.jpg

That’s where this trip ends, folks! But fear not, there’s one more chapter coming to wrap up this fantastic journey. And as this trip finishes, another begins. We’re going back to Disney on Tuesday and another fun and fabulous trip report will follow!

I can't believe it's over! What a great last day though. I've never seen Space Mountain's lights on while on the People Mover, that's really interesting! CoP is a great place for a nap.
Thank you both for sharing your report with us, it was a great read!

I love that Dumbo made it onto Dumbo.

Lots of TTA on the last day! :thumbsup2

The picture of Space Mountain with the lights on is very cool. I think I have one from way way back in the 80's- we rode through on the TTA while SM was closed for refurbishment.

So sad that this report is wrapping up BUT I am super excited to read about your upcoming adventures and see more spectacular pictures! And once again, you will be accompanied by a most adorable traveling companion.

I can't believe it either, Wendy! I just noticed your new PTR... 2015?!?!?:scared1:

I'm not entirely sure it's physically possible, but Franklin will probably take even more pictures than he did in October. I have a feeling the new TR is going to be fairly photo-heavy. :rotfl:
