Cast of characters: Bonnie (me!) 42 and resident vacation planner!
DH Shane 45 driver and happy doing anything!
DD Shayna 17 Disney nut and wishes she was American instead of Canadian!
DS Ben 14 wise guy who rolls with just about everything!
DS Jarrett 12 used to be the easy one to travel with but now has very little patience with crowds and anything that doesnt include swimming!
Day 7 of our trip: March 15
We checked in to the RPR late on the 15th. We stayed here last year at the same time and were looking forward to our stay. (Side note: Ive come to realize that when you try and plan to recapture a great vacation, more often than not, its never quite the same as the first time around).
We checked in around 7:30 p.m. and unfortunately they didnt have any Loews member upgrades available. I wasnt surprised though because of our late check in time. (Side note: we began our trip at Disney and had done the day at Disney and then traveled to RPR in the evening).
I had requested Tower 3 but was put in Tower 2, 5th floor. I have to say that both DH and I immediately noticed that the resort was showing some wear and tear. Understand that we are the types that notice things that other people wouldnt, but for that resort to be less than 2 years old, its frustrating to see how hard people can be on rooms. Most of the doors were dinged and marked, and the hallways could already use some fresh paint. Just our observation
We love the pool at RPR and couldnt wait to get down there and relax. The kids hit the pool and DH and I quickly walked to Citywalk to get a coffee at Starbucks. I began to rain, but it was worth the walk we were dying for a good cup of coffee! We couldnt help but laugh at ourselves as we passed all the partiers at Margueritaville for us coffee will always win over a drink anyday. We love to stroll along and share a coffee and nice conversation. We were so happy to be there!
When we arrived back at RPR, we found the pool empty and assumed that because of the rain they closed it. Found the kids in the room and they were bummed that they couldnt swim. Watched some TV and called it a night.
