After reading all of the wonderful Bonnet Creek posts, we decided to put them in the running for our 13 day trip in May next year. It's pretty much a two team race between Bonnet Creek and Sheraton Vistana Villages (DD loves the pirate ship, DW loves the grounds).

I reached out to Ken and Denise Price (again, thank for the wonderful advice folks) and was quoted $100/night for the the first 7 nights (value season) and $130/night for the last 6 (high season). Not bad but a little over what I wanted to spend.

Apparently the rate can drop by as much as $30/night the closer we get to the reservation, as per Ken's email. I guess my question is, am I better off waiting or should I book now and cross my fingers that the rate does indeed drop? Is there any chance it drops by more than $30 as get closer to May?

I normally book everything way in advance so this is new territory for me.

Thanks for your help everyone

I stayed at SVV last year and it was very nice. The only issue we had was with the internet.

I'll be staying at BC here in the next couple of weeks, so I'll be able to make a comparison then.

Last year we paid $110 a night for SVV for a 1 bedroom. At BC I'm paying the same, $110 per night for a 1 bedroom.

BC seems pretty popular. I'm not sure I'd want to chance waiting.

Do you want to rent a 1 bedroom or 2?

Thanks Anita, I think a 1BR should be fine for the 3 of us.

SVV is pretty awesome! We got lucky on our last trip, my uncle was a Sheraton employee so we were able to use the Starhot rate which was about $79/night. The internet did suck though.

There's little to no chance of getting anything that low but I was still hoping for $89-$100/night for a 1BR.

Waiting makes me nervous as I don't want to have to settle for something I wouldn't normally want because all of the hotels we wanted are all booked. Although early May is supposed to slow for travel. I'll probably wait a week or so to let it settle into my brain then I'll decide. Just wanted some insight since it seems like such a popular place with other DISers

In the past, Ken Price has passed on to his renters the reduced price when he has been able to secure it. I would go ahead and rent from him and hope he is able to get you the lower price closer to your date.
However, WBC has become VERY popular. Often it is all sold out so you should not count on the discount. There are not very many one bedroom condos. The property is probably 3/4 2 bedroom condos so you would stand a better chance of getting a price reduction if you rented a two bedroom as compared to a one bedroom. The old supply and demand theory.
Our family has used Ken on two different trips and have been very pleased with his service.
I am a Wyndham owner and have stayed at WBC 5 times over the last 10 years. It is a great resort with wonderful pools, lazy rivers, play grounds, splash areas, etc.
I do drive my rental car to the parks - I like being in control of my time schedule and not waiting on shuttles.

Have you gotten quotes for BC from some of the other renters? We used Vacation Strategies last May and paid $89.80 per night for a one bedroom. This past Sept I used one of the renters on myresortnetwork.com and paid $74.37 per night for a one bedroom. Dec 6th-16th we are using another renter on myresortnetwork.com and are paying only $60.00 per night for a one bedroom (but he offered us a two bedroom for just $70.00 per night). I know Vacation Upgrades gets good reviews here on the DIS, but for all three of my trips they have been higher priced (as has Farrells Vacations). I've just requested quotes from several different sellers and gone with the cheapest that has good reviews.

Wow, thanks everyone. I'll definitely check out those other sites Aubriee. If I could afford the risk I would definitely become an owner in one of these beautiful resorts Spanky, you're a lucky guy.

Thanks again for the advice everyone, I'll keep you posted on the outcome in case anyone else stops by looking for advice.

you guys are awesome and I LOVE THIS PLACE! :thumbsup2

Well it turns out that the lack of housekeeping at Bonnet Creek was a dealbreaker for the wife so we're back to Sheraton Vistana Villages. We do plan a few Resort days into our vacation so I understand her not wanting to worry about tidying up the room/beds while we try to relax on non-park days.

Thanks again for the suggestions everyone, for the record I was quoted $1,298 for 14 nights at Bonnet Creek by Vacation Strategy.

I'll update again as this quest continues.

**WBC Housekeeping is included on the 8th day ... for reservations ~ over one week.**

Also ... WBC Housekeeping is available for $99.00 ... per day.

That is what I paid ($99.00) so I could move (next day) to a preferred location ... Tower / Suite.

When we stayed at Vistana for a week, we had no housekeeping included. Are you paying extra for it?
