Bon Voyage Breakfast.....

I agree there needs to be more "presentation" on the fish...even if they figured out how to put some "waves" on the plate, so the fish were swimming...or even just water, with maybe a blueberry compote smear as the water they swim on (since you already have blueberries in the pancakes)...take a paint brush, dip, smear a stroke on the plate and have the fish swim on it...

It's just "trying" to make it seem worth the cost...
We NEVER go out for breakfast at home. Not a good value because breakfast foods are SO CHEAP. A dozen eggs usually cost us less than $1. A Costco sized bag of pancake/waffle mix $7.99. Bread is the most expensive but a loaf has probably 15+ pieces for $4. Yet we pay the prices at Disney for the experiences. This is my point, they could try to make it look fancy lol. At least they include fruit.

Just so everyone knows what we are talking about :) Looks like it also comes with a strip or 2 of bacon?

In comparison to CRT's kids' breakfast (from the review posted by @Ambehnke above):

Actually, your plate looks better because its a smaller plate and filled out the space more. Mine was a truly pathetic presentation (missing one strip of bacon) from my CRT breakfast in 2012 although mine has a chunk of tomato that yours doesn't.

Don't forget the large fruit or yogurt parfait too. I've mentioned the skillets of pastries (many quite large). We had more sausage than it appears there with bacon.

Good luck finding a 9 year old or younger that will eat it all.

Can anyone answer this question? Are we allowed to only order 5 entrees for 7 people or is it price fix for entry? Here's the reason I ask.
We have a late September reservation! This is the only character dining we intend to do, and it's our first event of our trip. The reason we chose it (besides proximity to Epcot and princess faves) is we have some severe dietary restrictions and also some pretty tight budget restrictions! Our two youngest daughters can eat the fruit and parfait and pastries, the rest of us can not. So, if we order food for the oldest five only, the little ones can eat all the pre-breakfast sweet stuff, and we can eat what we can eat. TIA!!

I've got 2 that would (boys - no sweat)...I don't take them to breakfast (even here at home) b/c kid meal breakfasts would fill them up enough to eat an adult meal breakfast after...Disney isn't the only one that skimps on kid size breakfasts, although in fairness, I'd only get charged $4-$5 for similar smallness around here...

Plus, if I'm gonna make pancakes, I'm gonna make them homemade and serve them with a fresh fruit compote as the topping (I have a killer fresh pineapple/banana/coconut with rum topping - only uses 1 TB of sugar for 6 people and takes about 5-10 minutes to whip up - I've got another one that uses mashed red grapes and the same 1 TB of sugar:)), and some scrambled or over medium eggs, and some bacon so they eat more than just all the flour and sugar:)...

Another question: Does the kitchen have the capability of making gluten free for the stack of pancakes? There is NOTHING on this menu my 12 year old son will eat and he has to eat gluten free. The rest of us will be more than fine. He hates eggs!

I'm pretty sure it is a price for entering the room not for what you order. So you'll all be charged per a person.

THANK YOU! I guess we will order, eat, and stash the pastries for snacks later in the park. No WAY will my kids be able to eat all that food!

They might be able to work with you for dietary restrictions. Disney is pretty good about that.

im sure lots of kids will have no problem finishing it all. Except for the tomato.

I am pretty sure I saw one review that had gluten free Mickey waffles as an option. They might be able to put the fruit compote with them, or figure something similar out for you. My father is dairy-free, and I anticipate those being an option for him as well.

That sounds good! Would you be willing to share your recipes
?

I don't really "recipe"...I cook like Rachel Ray (and made this up myself, but I'm sure other chefs have versions)...but a close approximation for 6 people is...
Melt 1 TB of butter in a pot (medium heat)...add 1/2 of a fresh pineapple chopped and let it cook 2-3 minutes...add 3ish chopped bananas (diagonal chop - not TOO small, so they don't break down too far - use more or less banana depending on banana size and pineapple size - you want about equal amounts) and a handful of shredded coconut and let it keep cooking for 1-2 minutes...add 1TB white sugar and a capful or two of coconut rum (or plain rum)...cook 3-5 more minutes and taste for sweetness (and softness of banana)...if you had unripe fruit or like things sweet, you may need a little more sugar...if you have REALLY ripe fruit or you use sweetened coconut, you made need less...you can leave it on a very low heat to keep warm while you cook pancakes...

It's really nice layered across the top of some old-fashioned pancakes (I posted a recipe on the budget board somewhere - I'll have to look for it). It's perfect to make b/c the pancake recipe needs to sit 10 minutes before you cook the pancakes, so you make the mix, make the topping, and then cook the pancakes:)...no butter or extra syrup needed for the pancakes!

EDIT TO ADD: Everything in the topping is to taste - if you hate coconut, leave it out. If you have more pineapple than banana or vice versa, roll with it. If you like white rum, use that. If you like no alcohol, add a splash of pineapple juice or coconut milk...etc, etc...it will taste good b/c the fresh fruit will taste good:)...

I started making my own toppings b/c I don't like maple syrup much (and fake maple even less), and I just wanted warmed fruit on my pancakes and usually when you look at the fruit "syrups" at places like IHOP, they are just sugared syrups with flavoring...and even "fruit" toppings are loads of sweetened syrup with some canned or frozen fruit...so I liked knowing where mine came from (and it really was so easy to do - I don't cook really hard or time consuming stuff, but use lots of fresh produce and simple ingredients in my foods)...

Not my pictures but my sons plate looked exactly like the review. Plus fruit and pastries. They also gave my then 2 year old the same plate and she was free.

I booked this breakfast last Saturday for the end of Sept. I cant wait. Big fan of Ariel and Rapunzel. Love that I can now meet Eric and Flynn Ryder.
I think I went alil crazy. I booked all character meals. Im going on my third solo vacation and cant wait. Starting early morning here then off to Animal Kingdom for the day.
Can anyone tell me what Sunday Gravy is?

In simplest explanation, it should be a meat-based tomato sauce - the more complicated explanation is posted below - but I think this version may be meatless (hopefully, someone who ate it will chime in)...

Sunday gravy seems to be a fairly thin tomato sauce. Maybe it has meat in it, but it is minnimal.
