Bombshell Obama Pastor Video

According to the national polls, Guiliani has a 20% lead on everyone.....Wait, that was 6 months ago.

(when is the presidential election again??)

I've seen more than my share of election cycles and one thing holds true. Polls are only extolled and embraced when the supporter's candidate is in the lead in them.

When McCain slips behind again, the tune will change to "well, you just can't trust those darn polls, they are so misleading".... I guarantee it. ;)

This thread reminded me that sometimes there are are editorials or documentaries that come with disclaimers such as "the opinions expressed herein are not necessarily those of the management"

Some of you on this thread would do well to remember Obama cannot be blamed for the opinions expressed by his acquaintances. Maybe we should see if we can find all the sermons ever given by any member of the church(es) that McCain and Clinton have attended over the years. Who knows, maybe they have heard a few controversial sermons in their day. I'd be willing to bet on it.

I'm not blaming Obama for the opinions and actions of his minster. I am however, holding Obama responsible for his own actions and lack of judgment, given that he knew Rev. Wright was a "problem", which is illustrated by him being uninvited to give the invocation, and then giving him a place within his campaign, and not addressing the situation until the video was shown on TV.

There really are black Jews and not just converts.

Your post reminded me of a classic "All in the Family" episode where Archie Bunker gets locked in his poorly heated basement in the winter and no one is home. He finds a bottle of Polish vodka left over from his Mike's wedding and drinks it to keep warm. He of course gets bombed and starts talking to the Lord about everything in general and asks the Lord to save him from freezing to death. The door to the basement is opened by a passerby outside who heard Archie begging for help. The guy is a Black American and Archie in his drunken state thinks this guy is Jesus and looks up to the heavens and says, "I'm sorry God, if I had only known".:rotfl2:

An absolute classic episode and I'm laughing as I type this. Some people believe that God has to be a white man and a member of the GOP as well. I have had some interesting discussions with some of those people over the years. Wouldn't it be funny if they get up to the pearly gates and have the same realization as Archie Bunker did?

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I remember that one. You can catch "All In The Family" on one of the cable channels now. But, today, it comes with a warning before it starts. Funny, there was no warning 38 years ago.

I lived in Isreal and there were several groups of black Jews. The most well known of the groups was the Falashas from Ethiopia. They were a pre-rabbinical form of Judiasm. The Falashas' Judiasm was more like the Judiasm practiced before the Romans destroyed the temple.

There were 12 tribes of Jews. Most people are familiar with 2 of those tribes. The other 10 are still out there including a group of black South Africans who claimed to be Jews. When genetic tests were done, sure enough, they were Jews. But, again, pre-rabbinical.

I don't know if Jesus was black. I do know he wasn't a white European. He was Semitic which is considerably darker then the traditional image.

And, yes, the Romans were white.

Yanno, this whole discussion really turned took a sharp turn into the surreal.

Btw, I think many people are going to be surprised when they get to the Pearly Gates. ;)

I wonder which elevator she'll send them on?

I'm just guessing, because I haven't seen a photograph, but Jesus was probably middle-eastern looking in his appearance. Just going out on a limb...

And the Romans, I'm assuming were Italian, thus rather Mediteranean-looking.

Do you feel the same way about Mccain's association with Parsley and Hagee?

The reason I ask because I have seen Hagee's sermons on tv before, and have seen him at my old church. The man is nothing more than a gay hater bigot, but I don't think that matters to some of you does it?

I don't think some of you hold Mccain responsible for Hagee's actions, but you continue to hold Obama responsible for Rev Wright's actions. Hmmm

Pretty strong limb.

That's a bit easier because are photographs via the various frescos. They had dark hair and dark eyes along with groups who had light hair and light eyes. Like the Italians of today. :goodvibes

*Edited to Add*

I knew there was something I forgot about "was Jesus black"? Tradition has it that Jesus was descended from the House of David. David's son, King Solomon, had a black mother. Solomon's mother came from Kush which was a country in Africa. Was Solomon and his descendants black? Who knows? Maybe they were. Was Jesus descended from David through Solomon? Maybe, but it was common for a king to have many concubines. No one actually knows. Jesus may very well have been part black or not. But he was definitely not white as we think of it.

Anyone else heard or read Mike Huckabee's comments on Obama and the Pastor?

"HUCKABEE: [Obama] made the point, and I think it's a valid one, that you can't hold the candidate responsible for everything that people around him may say or do. You just can't. Whether it's me, whether it's Obama...anybody else. But he did distance himself from the very vitriolic statements."
.
.
.
"Sermons, after all, are rarely written word for word by pastors like Reverend Wright, who are delivering them extemporaneously, and caught up in the emotion of the moment. There are things that sometimes get said, that if you put them on paper and looked at them in print, you'd say "Well, I didn't mean to say it quite like that."
.
.
.
"And one other thing I think we've gotta remember. As easy as it is for those of us who are white, to look back and say "That's a terrible statement!"...I grew up in a very segregated south. And I think that you have to cut some slack -- and I'm gonna be probably the only Conservative in America who's gonna say something like this, but I'm just tellin' you -- we've gotta cut some slack to people who grew up being called names, being told "you have to sit in the balcony when you go to the movie. You have to go to the back door to go into the restaurant. And you can't sit out there with everyone else. There's a separate waiting room in the doctor's office. Here's where you sit on the bus..." And you know what? Sometimes people do have a chip on their shoulder and resentment. And you have to just say, I probably would too. I probably would too. In fact, I may have had more of a chip on my shoulder had it been me."

Really, McCain has made a conscious decision to make Hagee his spiritual adviser? I didn't know that, simply that he endorsed him, just as Louis Farrakhan endorsed Obama. If the situation is different, please show me where he is involved with McCain's campaign. As far as Parsley, it is the same situation as Obama, and I never said anything different. Also, McCain isn't running to be the nominee for my party, he's a Republican. Believe me, I live near San Antonio. I know about Hagee.

You can't control who endorses you. You CAN control who you appoint to your committees and which church you choose to attend.

I would have figured that after 84 pages some people should have figured it out that no one is trying to assign blame on Obama for what his preacher said, it's the question of, does he harbor some of those same feelings?

I think he and his wife do.
