My husband always read about all the rave reviews about Boma. We have never been, and are thinking about trying Boma for breakfast on our upcoming trip. What makes Boma so good? It is the breakfast or dinner that is the better choice? Thanks in advance for your input!

I wouldn't do the breakfast but the dinner at Boma is the best meal on property. I would take it over any other restaurant and on many of my trips it is the only ADR I even make.

We have only had dinner at Boma's. It is by far the best buffet at WDW. In fact it is the only one we care to eat at.

I think Boma is a restaurant that is highly rated based on a matter of personal preference. We went on our last trip in December for the first time and the food was good.

But, it was not my favorite. Everything was very sweet - lots of cinnamon, coconut and vanilla in everything.

Would I go again? Yes. But, I would not go out of my way for it like we did on this last trip.

A picture of my main plate from the restaurant. Pita bread and hummus (top center), corn muffins, (right) sausage with peppers and onions, Bobotie (bottom center- which was my favorite of the entire evening), sliced beef with a sweet rub and vegetable cous cous (top left- another favorite).

Hope this helps some. :)

Yes, Boma is that good!

DH and I love their breakfast as well as dinner. We think its the best restaurant in WDW and we go numerous times during our stay. We love the atmosphere and the ability to try things (dinner items) we normally would not be able to get at home in Philadelphia!

Breakfast is pretty standard and the dinner is awesome! Give it a try.

I was very underwhelmed with the Boma breakfast and we won't do it again. I thought that the selection was a bit limited and the only thing that really stood out for me was the Frunch juice (same as the yummy juice at Kona). For a buffet breakfast I'd recommend CP or CM. For a good breakfast I'd recommend Kona.

Breakfast(Jungle Juice!) or dinner(Zebra Domes!), it is THAT good. :cloud9:

I have never been there for breakfast but I can definitely vouch for the dinner.
It's one of the very few restaurants that my husband and I must do every time we go to WDW. They have something for everyone there - picky eaters, meat-lovers and vegetarians alike. It's fairly exotic with the different choices, and I love the variety of all the different flavors.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is absolutely beautiful to walk around in and check out, as well if you haven't already done so. I highly recommend this restaurant. :goodvibes

I LOVE Boma! But just be aware that if you are paying out of pocket, they raised the dinner prices quite a bit. It is now $35.99 plus tax and tip per person! Won't matter if you are on the DDP.

Three or four years ago there were better offerings. I actually went the first year it opened, too; so, I've seen the restaurant develop since day 1. In days gone by they would have alternate desserts that were actually healthy for you. One that I remember had blueberries and raspberries on top of a low calorie pudding in a small pie. Also, the salads were better like having cranberries in them. Meat offerings were better, too like better cuts of meat and more selections. I would say the child's area has stayed on par, but that's it. The DP plan included a smoothie in the past and that's gone now.

The last two times we were there (2008 and 2009) I wasn't as impressed. With the price increase I think it's not worth it, now. It's all relative though if all prices go up at Disney.

I find it hard (directions, time, parking, etc.) at times to go to resorts to eat; it's easier to eat at the parks; unless, you stay at a resort with a restaurant you like. To up the prices is another downer.

I think if I go back to AKL again, I'm going to give Jiko's another try.

We've never been to the breakfast buffet at Boma but we go to the dinner buffet every trip! WE LOVE it. :lovestruc The selection is vast and the food is delicious. Yes, it can be noisy but who cares?!?! The food is worth it. We love everything from the salads and soups to the sliced prime rib. They did raise the price of the buffet but in our opinion it is hands down the best buffet in WDW.

We really enjoyed breakfast here last year. It was worth it just for the trip to see the resort! The juice was amazing and thought the food was good as well. We have never tried dinner here. Try something new go for it:thumbsup2

We tried both brkfst & dinner at Boma for the 1st time last year. Brkfst was very good & we plan on returning for this year's trip. We did not like the dinner very much - a few too many exotic foods/flavors for us.

See my husband agrees with you. Boma is just not his favorite. He hates cinnamon on anything but a snickerdoodle and he just doesn't get why ds and I love this place the way we do! He plays along nicely, but we only go about every third trip because there are so many other places we all love.

I love Boma for dinner. Haven't tried breakfast there yet, but plan to next trip. I have made their breakfast sausage and biscuit casserole at home, and if that's any indication, then their breakfast food is just as good as dinner.

Boma is my favorite restaurant (both Disney and non-Disney) ever! I've never been for breakfast, but dinner is just so yummy! The flavors of everything are just so yummy and different (but not so different that my kids and DH wouldn't eat there).

I recommend it 100% :)

Boma is my favorite WDW restaurant (so far). The breakfast is fairly standard, but very good. The dinner is more ethnic but very good also. The setting is wonderful & if you have time, you can view the savannah out back before or after your meal.

If you look here,

http://land.allears.net/reviewpost/showcat.php?cat=39

you will see that both breakfast & dinner get extremely high ratings from guests.

Boma is my favorite restaurant - not just at WDW, but anywhere. My DH and I are going to WDW next month and its our only adr. So much food at WDW is mediocre. Boma is the exception.
