Are the items on Boma's buffet spicy?

Did your kids like it? I will be bringing two kids aged 17 and 7. Somewhat picky eaters. They mostly like meats. The oldest likes spicy food but she's the only one in this family that does!

We have never eaten at Boma. So anything you can tell us would be helpful.

There is a sufficiently broad array of food on the Boma buffet that pretty much everybody should be able to find something they like, including kids (there is a separate kids' section). I'm not sure I would describe the foods as particularly spicy, but there are several "flavorful" options with the African twist.

If the dish is spicy, it will be noted. There are plenty of options. Amazing soups, interesting salads....You can get a plate of little spoonfuls of all the salads then see what you like. There are so many great dishes every time!

Yes to all the talk about the soups! Try a little bit of each. I could eat nothing but those wonderful soups and breads and think I got my money's worth. At our table of 5 everyone had a favorite. Of course there are many other dishes. I found plenty that were not too spicy hot. Of course save room for dessert!

Yes.... Flavorful is the right word! I always think hot spicy flavoring is just a cover up. The spices used in most dishes at Boma add wonderful interesting flavor, and not just "heat" . There are a few with hot spices, and I easily avoid them.

Nothing is Spicy. If they like meat... the beef is cooked over a wood burning fire and sliced at the station.... The have other meat choices as well in general meat pie (ground beef) Chicken, salmon sometimes ribs... The have a normal kids section normal salads as well and other foods with more of a twist which is mainly the soups nothing out of the ordinary but by far the highest quality buffet at Disney...
P.s. if you get there at 5 when they open the line for the buffet will be very short and you can ask for the end of the beef and get it :rolleyes1if I am not there that is

I have a husband who hates anything remotely spicy and two young children, one of whom is incredibly picky. Myself and my parents both love more exotic foods full of flavor, including spicy. All of us absolutely loved Boma for both breakfast and dinner. We all had more than enough to eat! I was very impressed with the variety of foods available and quite pleased that all of our varying tastes were met with success!

Spiced? Yes. Spicy? I don’t think so. My kids (11/9) love it and always have. They have quite the array of choices. Even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something. Salads, soups, meats, sides, desserts. It’s very varied.

Not particularly spicy, but spiced to a unique flavor profile. My 4 YO hated Boma and refused to eat most of the food on the buffet, but his 2.5 YO brother ate almost everything. The food is amazing, but may be out of the comfort zone of picky eaters. For example, we're probably staying at AKL next trip, but I doubt we'll eat at Boma (unless we do breakfast) because my mom is a super picky eater and I know nothing there will appeal to her.

We had kids there with us our last trip and they did fine. The youngest was 6 who is a plain eater and she had no problem with the food. As the pp stated the food was not spicy but was more unique if anything. It is definitely a different taste to someone who is not use to say something like India food or other spicy foods. Since it is a buffet if they don't like the food they can always try something else and there are some things that are more kid friendly if needed.
