1. How is Boma for kids? Will they find enough to eat?

2. How long is trek from Animal Kingdom over to AKL?

Thanks for any feedback.

1. They have kids' menu items like chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. Along with lots of vegetables, soup, meats, salads, desserts, fruit, etc. Your kiddo should be able to find lots to eat. Even my picky eater gets enough to eat.

2. You can't walk between AKL and AK. You'll have to drive, take a cab or ride a bus.

When I was there in September, they had a couple items for Kids. There's always the Mac n Cheese plus they had chicken Nuggets. Boma is really good for adults. The food, for a buffet, is quite good and hits the spot. I had this delicious tomato and watermelon salad with blue cheese that was soooooooooo good. I liked it so much I got the recipe and made it the day I got back from vacation.

Boma is a WDW favorite for everyone in my family, including the 3 and 5 yo's. There are plenty of choices for the less adventurous AND the more daring. Food aside, the CMs here are FANTASTIC with children. My kids especially enjoy the impromptu singng and dancing.

The bus ride to AKL takes less than 5 minutes.

Wow. I've eaten at Boma probably 15 times (breakfast and dinner) since AKL opened, and I've never seen any singing or dancing! What am I missing? What goes on??

we ate at Boma for the first time this trip YUMMY , no singing or dancing but plenty of delicious food, my DS a picky eater had several plates of the rib eye beef ! but there was kid friendly food mac n cheese etc, choc chip cookies , one of the best meals we've had fantastic value for money then after went out to the savannah and borrowed a cm's night vision goggles to see the animals, very cool.

We stayed at AKL last week and had dinner and breakfast at Boma. My 10 year old niece loves the ribs there, but the day we were there they did have them. So she ate chicken and loved it. She always finds something on the buffet there that she really enjoys. I would most definately take kids there.

My DS is a picky eater and he loves Boma. I think the size of the Mac and Cheese bowl has something to do with it. :rolleyes2 Therre are 3 or 4 different kinds of cookies for dessert, too.

Sometimes during dinner hours some of the CMs from Africa gather in Boma's waiting area. Somebody beats a drum while others sing African songs and dance. They'll do a couple of songs so it lasts about 10-15 minutes, maybe?

If you happen to be in the waiting area when this happens, it's wonderful. But even if you're already in the restaurant, you can hear the drumming and singing and it creates the perfect atmosphere.

We had dinner there about 2 weeks ago and there was nobody singing while we were there. I don't know if we were just there at the wrong time or they aren't doing it anymore. I hope it's still going on because it adds something really special to an already great dining experience at Boma and Jiko.
