Boma or Tusker House?

Looking for a TS meal for the evening EMH night at AK... Heard great things about Boma but would have to leave the park and come back.. How is Tusker House? Which is better? Is Boma worth leaving and coming back into the park? Thanks.

I haven't tried the new Tusker House. Used to be my favorite CS though. Boma is a family favorite- just yummy!

I haven't had Tusker House for dinner, but I read a review that said it was similar to Boma menu wise. I will try to find it and post.

I think someone best descibed TH as Boma Lite. I'd say if you were leaving the parks for good- I would go to BOMA and enjoy all the food and the atmosphere. If you are planning on staying at AK (like it soumnds you are) I would just stay at Tusker House. I had lunch there and thought it was a terrific meal as well. Personally, I don't think you can really go wrong with either- just decide which is easier.

We tried the new Tusker House for lunch in January, and I loved it! I have eaten at Boma in the past, and I might get beaten up for this.... but I liked Tusker House better.

It is very much like a Boma-lite, but I personally think it has a much better mix of "normal" food combined with ethnic food. I had the oyster stew, salmon chicken and vegetable couscous are what stand out in my mind. All very good.

Service was friendly and good. I hate to say this, I really felt I was going to miss the old Tusker House, and I do, but the new one is good enough to make up for the loss of the old.

Not tried Tusker but Boma is great and the setting is lovely too.

We tried each one for the first time in our past trip early March. I would definitely vote for Boma! The food is great and the zebra domes are fantastic. When we ate at Tusker house, we found the selection a little lacking and the dessert was not good at all.

Yes, it is.

Its a great place to try out new foods, many of which, you won't find anywhere else on property.

I have not been to Tusker House. I have heard good things and many consider it a 'boma lite'. I doubt I'd make a special trip to the AK to go to Tusker House, but I would (and have and will) make a special trip to AKL to go to Boma. I guess if you're willing and able to leave the park, I'd go to Boma. If you want a TS in the park, TH is the way to go.

We had the Tusker House buffet in December and Boma for dinner later in the week..We both liked Tusker better and I always loved Boma..It was delicious!
