We enjoyed both. Both have great atmosphere. You hardly think you're in the middle of an amusement park!
My personal guess is that many women question the belly dancing before they go, but it is very family friendly. The little girl at the table next to us actually stood on her chair and danced too. It was very cute. We've also had rather good service there both times. The best menu item, IMO, is the beef roll appetizer. I forget what they are called, butthey have seasoned meat on the inside and cinnamon on the outside. They are a little like beef taquitos, in that they have meat inside a fried pastry. But the meat is seasoned differently, and the cinnamon/sugar on the outside is a really nice contrast to the savory meat inside.
The bread was really good too. Another dish I liked was the vegetable stew over cous cous. Cous cous is a very small kind of noodle. They are cooked witha small amount of butter - a la rice - but not enough to make the noodles greasy. The stew has all kinds of root veggies in it - carrots, turnips, etc. Good and hearty!
I also really like Boma. I've read some mixed reviews on the DIS, but this place gets packed. What I like best is that many places at WDW lack fresh fruit and good veggies. Boma has creative presentations of both - as well as plain fresh fruit. The strawberries, melon, grapes, all look so colorful on the buffet together! There are some starches on this buffet - but they are limited and interesting. Too often buffets offer only 50 different kinds of boring greasy starch - not Boma. Instead there are colorful fresh salads - not the classic American ones, but interesting ones. There are also four kinds of soup, carved beef, salmon, and more. If you are strictly looking to go for carved beef, you'll find better elsewhere. If you like fresh alternatives, you'll probably enjoy it.
The hard part of Boma is the transportation. If you go by Disney transport - your best bet is to go directly from a park. After dinner, you'll either have to transfer or spring for a cab. If you can hop on a bus to Epcot or MGM, then it's not so bad to get back to most resorts - but if you have to go allthe way to DTD or MK, it can take a while - unless you are ther during a vacation week and can hop back into MK for one more ride after dinner. - or you have the option of taking your own car.
