We have reservations for BOMA during our upcoming trip and I am getting a bit worried because I am a picky eater. I dont mind eating off of the kids menu, so can you give me an idea of whats offered on the kids buffet as well as the "americanized" foods on the buffet....Pics would be great! Thanks so much!

Are you going for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner?

We went for breakfast last July and it was great! My DH is a very picky eater and only likes "normal" food...he would not try anything he isnt familiar with....he was able to eat enough and be full from the "normal" foods.

Sorry but I didnt take any pics from that breakfast.

HTH!

If you type "Boma" into a search, you should be able to find lots of great info, pics and reviews.
Here's just one thread regarding Boma with a photo/review link at the end (page 2):

You could make a good meal just from the soups, carved meat and desserts! The side items tended to be the more "unusual" ones. I especially enjoyed the hummus dips and breads, too, and I'm a usually unadventurous eater. Boma was perfect for me because I could just try a taste of foods I would never order as my only meal in a zillion years! Go for it, OP, just go in with an open mind and try stuff! :rotfl:

Sorry to say we couldn't find anything we liked and we are not picky eaters.

DH and I sampled every dish on the buffet the night we ate there and everything had a sweet taste to it.
Spices like cinnamon, vanilla and fruits are used in everything. Even the meats were rubbed with them.

I can always make a meal of just beef and mashed potatoes if I have to, but there...it didn't work. Felt like we were eating a holiday dessert for dinner.

The kids station had mac/cheese, chicken nuggets and cheese ravaoli with sauce on it. But that was so bland I couldn't handle it.

So we left unhappy, and an hour later had to eat CS.

That's why I'm really happy about trying it during our FREE dining visit. It doesn't hurt as bad when its not OOP!! :thumbsup2
I'm thinking we'll feel the same way as you did though, so we'll save up the extra CS for that purpose, just in case!
BTW...what CS did you go to later??

The food at Boma is very ethnic... too many wierd spices and stuff for my tastes. We have a reservation there in May but I am sitting it out cant see spending $36 for chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, fruit and mini corn dogs. I've eaten there twice thats enough. :snooty:
