Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask, but... Boma sounds great but I'm not sure how you get to and from. Can you walk there from the AK park or do you need to take a bus? And if you are at Boma after AK has closed for the day, how do you get back to your resort if you aren't staying at AK Lodge? I'd love to try it but not if it means adding a lengthy commute time because of my kids. Thanks!

Unfortunately, you can not walk from the AK to the AKL. If buses are not still running from AK to the resorts, you will need to transfer to a bus for your resort at another park, the TTC, or DTD.

AKL is kind of "out of the way" from any park other than Animal Kingdom. There is no walking path from the lodge to the park, but the bus ride is very short. If you are at AK just get on the AKL bus.

Getting back to your resort from any resort restuarants can be difficult if the parks are closed. From AKL you will need to take a bus from the lodge to any park still offering bus service or to Downtown Disney and then transfer to a bus for your resort.

We love the restuarants at AKL so we usually eat there at least once even when we stay somewhere else. We almost always take a bus to our meal but a taxi back to the resort after our meal. Sometimes it costs 20 dollars, but we think it is worth the money and effort. The 20 dollars is if you are going to the MK resort area. If you were staying say at Coronodo Springs the taxi would cost more like 10 dollars.

We went to BOMA at 8:30pm and were staying at CSR. To get home, just take a bus from AKL to another theme park that's still open, and then take a resort bus from there. Either that, or you can go through Downtown Disney, but that can take a while if you're not staying near there.

We usually go to Boma from a park, so we ride the AKL bus. When we leave, if we're going to a park, we wait for that bus. If we're going back to our resort, we get on the first park bus that comes (doesn't matter what park!), then get a bus to our resort when we get to that park.

Last September, we park hopped over to Animal Kingdom from Epcot in the late afternoon. We caught the Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade at 4pm and hit a couple of rides before the park closed at 5pm. We then took the bus over to AKL for a 6pm Boma ADR. If you have an early ADR, you'll have a lot more options on your transportation home because most of the parks will still be open. We figured we could jump on an Epcot, MGM, or DTD bus and then transfer to a Pop Century bus at the park. It actually worked out great for us...an Epcot bus pulled up very quickly at AKL and it turned into a Pop Century bus when it arrived at Epcot! We didn't even have to change buses.

This is one where we bill cab fare into the cost of the trip, unless we are staying at AKL. Resort to resort transportation is not good.

The gf and myself did the trip from All Star Sports -- to Magic Kingdom -- to AKL ... took about 30 minutes ... but the food at Boma's was well worth IMO

P.S. if your a DDE you can just drive over and park for free at the resort =)

One more variation!...............

If you're staying at an EPCOT area resort, take the bus to EPCOT or MGM and walk to your hotel. For an EPCOT arrival, walk through EPCOT and exit at the Int'l Gateway. For an MGM arrival, walk to the Boardwalk and resorts.
