Have you ever been on an airboat ride and not seen a gator? If we don't see any gators is the ride still worth it, with other wildlife and the scenery? :)

We seen lots of gators, turtles, and birds. I think that it would be a great ride even without the gaters. I think that the chances of not seeing a gator are slim. The guide we had was fantastic :cool1:

We went on the airboat ride in 2004 and we did not see a gator of any type because it was to cold, we only saw some cows in the water and birds. But it was still a good trip out .

Reminds me of taking some relatives from Europe on an Everglades airboat tour a few years ago. It was a cool cloudy day in winter and I told them there was no chance they'd see a gator, but to my complete surprise halfway through there was one in plain view off to the side. I couldn't believe it.

The boat turned and I looked back -- the fan blades were whipping up the water by the gator, which revealed the chain they had around his back legs to keep him anchored.

Seemed very sad to me at the time.

WHAT?? You mean someone from the airboat company chained the animal so it would be able to be seen by tourists?? That is terrible. The SPCA should be called.

I hope they dont get away with doing that ! I want to see some wildlife and gators and have been planning on doing the Bogy Creek airboat ride too.

Does anyone know if it is more fun to rent your own boat or take a guided tour? Thanks!

I didn't know you could rent your own boat. Do you mean just your family goes with a guide? That would be fun. :)
