I just noticed that the dinner menu at Be Our Guest looks different. The shrimp and scallop dish does not say it is in a puff pastry anymore, the salmon is gone, and the sides for the chicken are different. Has anyone tried the new menu yet?

We were there last week and dh had the salmon for dinner. Is this a brand new change?

I don't know when it happened, I just noticed it today when I went to look up entrees for my DS who will be on the adult menu and is worried he won't find something he likes. I was going to suggest the chicken, but the new one has a white bean thing instead of potatoes. :(

Often the sides can be changed. Simply ask to substitute the potatoes for whatever you did not want as a side on your dish.

BOG had potatoes with the chicken last Sunday (10/25). I think there was salmon on the menu too.

On 10/22 BOG dinner had the shrimp & scallops in a puff pastry listed on the menu. I didn't have it since I'm gluten free but it was listed on the regular menu.

salmon isn't listed
the shrimp and scallops is listed in a white sauce, so I bet it is still on a pasty
There are pommes frites with the steak, so there are those potatoes if nothing else

Looking at the menu on the Disney World site

We ate there Thursday and I was sad to hear the gratin macaroni was gone, as well as the puff pastry for the scallops and shrimp. I'm not sure of any other changes.

So it is confirmed as of Thursday that these items were no longer on the menu when you were at the restaurant?

The Shrimp and Scallops is now in a "lobster sauce" and it also includes a lobster claw. It's served in a little casserole dish with a puff pastry triangle on the side, as well as some roasted asparagus. The lobster "cream" sauce isn't a white cream sauce - it was definitely roux-based, but it was more savory than it was creamy.

I had it tonight and it was good.

Also - the fish is now "Catch of the Day", so I guess it will change. Tonight's fish was grouper. I don't pay too much to fish since I don't eat cooked fish, so apologies there.

I'm having dinner again there next Sunday so I'll post again if the fish DOES change.

A lot of the side dishes and seasonings have changed on the on-line menu. I was just looking at it about a week ago and it is way different today. You can still see the old menu in the Disboard listings.

We were there Thursday, 10/29. Salmon was on the menu. The shrimp and scallops were served in a porcelain bowl with a triangular piece of puff pastry off to the side (sorry, I'm not that descriptive.) The sauce was an orangish creamy lobster sauce. I was disappointed with the size of the puff pastry. I used the rolls in place of it and it was the best meal of our trip.

My son had grilled mahi mahi, I guess that was the fish of the day.

The steak came with some of the best french fries I have ever tasted.

I have pictures if you want to see what it looks like...

There was some kind of herbed mayo butter (what the server called it) that came on the side with the steak. We didn't care for it so DH took it off of his plate.

There was a lot of shrimp and sauce-y goodness underneath that spinach.

Sorry they are so big. I couldn't figure out how to resize them from my phone

It was delicious! I really enjoyed it. It was a lot of nice shellfish for the price.

The shrimp/scallop dish does look different, but if it's still delicious, that's what really matters. I was scared when I started reading that it was off the menu for good. :|

I had the steak and fries last week. It was very good. I loved the truffle, herbed mayo that came with them. No one else liked it but I did. I have to say that BOG was the best meal we had our entire stay. It is on the must-do list for our next trip, whenever that is.
