DW and I had lunch at BOG this past week.

Pro's:
The air conditioning was working and it was nice and cool inside.

Con's:
Everything else.

I don't see what the attraction is. It was a barely-edible, way-overpriced sandwich. In fact, DW couldn't even finish hers because of all the gristle in the ham.
Service in the restaurant is non-existent.
No one told us when we checked in that we had to get our own drinks.
We had to chase down our utensils and napkins from two different carts. No one told us about that, either.

I see nothing but a huge money-grab here.

I usually don't post anything negative about WDW, because we always find some good in everything, but not here.
We've been to WDW over 25 times; we are Passholders; and we've eaten at dozens of restaurants.

Never again at this one.

I'm also in the minority that I was disappointed with the theming s well. Seemed like a big cafeteria rather than a castle. I didn't see the big deal. I'm sure that they fancy it up for dinner though.

I cant imagine any place serving thousands of people per day being exceptionally good! Even CRT, Le Cellier and Ohana dont serve the masses that flock to this place. Im assuming because its new and the theme is the attraction. Not sure of anyone who would go for the food. I mean, come on....grey stuff ??

I have been twice and had about the same experience each time. The 2nd visit, I waited 30 min for a kid's meal to be brought out to me and it was cold. I don't get it either and it will be a while before I try it for lunch again. Gonna give breakfast a try in a couple of weeks and see if it is any better.

I guess you hadnt realized its a quick service meal and not table service? For a QS meal I think it's a great option and we love the castle and theming.

Sorry they didn't tell you where to get your beverages and utensils. Our sever mentioned it when our food was brought out. But, the other pros are you can place your order ahead of time so you don't have to wait in line and they also bring it to the table. I would much rather wait and talk with my family. I've been at plenty of QS restaurants where I've had to stand and wait for a very long time at the counter for the food to be brought out. This experience is much better. Personally, we all enjoyed our meals. I'm sure that varies. We will be eating there twice for lunch and once for dinner on our next trip.

I have to agree with the OP. My husband's sandwich was very blaah.. and my braised porl wasn't much better.. I did, actually like the grey stuff. we went for the atmosphere. it was ok. maybe the TS is better. to us it's "been there.. done that."

we also almost had a problem with seating. we had a lunch fast pass at opening. I requested a table with as much light as possible, since my husband has low vision. when seated, the main room was pretty dim (to hym husband.. not to you or me). I looked and the room to the right was lit up more. I asked to sit there.
CM : "we can't seat anyone there until this room is full" ME: there is a HUGE line. " this room will be full in 10 or 15 minutes. we need a table with more light. we aren't in a hurry and understand if the server won't get to us for a bit."
CM: "sorry we can't seat you there yet" ME: "no problem we will just wait here near the entrance to that room until you open it up. which, now will probably be in about 7 minutes...(lol) "
CM: " no we have to seat you in the order in which you came in . YOU have to sit in this room"
ME:" no, we want to sit in the room with more LIGHT so my husband can SEE what he is eating! (grrr) we don't mind waiting and letting other people ahead of us"
CM "sigh.. I'll have to go talk to a manager)"

we were eventually sat at the 1st table in the room to the right. we had to wait.. which is fine. but for some reason this CM didn't want to accomodate my husbands needs. as I said, the line to be seated was long, and it took only 10 minutes or so for the first room to fill up.. what was the big deal? (except it made my husband feel stupid, like he was putting them out. there was no discretion at all .)

Never been there for lunch, but we've been for dinner twice during two different visits, and really enjoyed it. I guess we'll stick to dinner.

We totally agree with you about the atmosphere. It reminds us of a big cafeteria with some nice decorations. We did think the food was pretty good though but not good enough to overcome the poor atmosphere.

My biggest complaint is the ordering system at lunch. Even if I'd ordered ahead. It's so disorganized and inefficient.

I love the pork dish, though. The rest of the lunches are blah.

I have to agree with you about lunch. We couldn't get dinner adrs for our Nov trip last year so we did the FP+ for lunch. It all went downhill starting with the CM who helped up scan our bands in the other kiosk room before seating since we pre-ordered. They somehow messed up my credits on my band. We found a table, it was myself on my own DDP and my sister and her DH on their own DDP. They got their food right after we were seated, I did not. I let 5 minutes pass and they wanted to wait to eat but I told them to just eat. I asked a CM what was going on. Needless to say, I didn't get my lunch until after they were done eating. I just kept being told it's coming, it's coming. The manager finally had to come over and said they somehow messed something up with my magic band and they didn't have my order in the system. I wasn't even hungry anymore by the time I got my food.. I took a few bites and was finished and just wanted to get out of there. The manager did give us fastpasses to use at any ride one time and was very apologetic. I won't do lunch there again.

We are giving dinner a try since I was actually able to get an ADR for our mvmcp night. I am more excited for this since it is TS and I am hoping it is better than lunch. The food was nothing special at lunch. My sister and BIL loved dinner there on their honeymoon and besides the whole messup at lunch, they did not care for the food either. So I hope dinner is a whole different and better experience.

We've eaten there twice for lunch. We did enjoy the atmosphere, and my husband loved the braised pork. I wasn't crazy about the rest of the food, especially the kids' menu items. I opted to skip it for our upcoming trip in October.

I'm also in the minority that I was disappointed with the theming s well. Seemed like a big cafeteria rather than a castle. I didn't see the big deal. I'm sure that they fancy it up for dinner though.

I agree! We went for lunch last year and I felt like I was eating mediocre food in a big cafeteria. I was disappointed, although I'm hoping to get a breakfast ADR so we can get into the park early.

Completely agree that BOG is highly overrated. I also felt like I was eating in a big, dark, noisy cafeteria. We also didn't know the routine so it was hard to find a table and drinks and utensils. The food was forgettable. I literally don't remember what we ate there last summer.
I know people love it but I really don't get why. I'm glad I went once but I have no reason to go back.

As others have posted it is a quick service restaurant for lunch. With that said we plan to eat lunch there twice on our upcoming trip. Now dinner is another thing for us, we do have ap dinner ADR but May not keep it, for a table service we weren't thrilled with it.

I do have a question for the OP, what quick service at Magic Kingdom do you like? In my opinion BOG is the best option for lunch.
