BOG dinner or MK fireworks

Hi all! So our family has never seen the MK fireworks. We only have one day for magic kingdom. But.....we also have reservations for Be Our Guest restaurant for 8:50pm! Should we keep the dinner reservations? Or cancel because the fireworks are not to be missed! My husband and I have been obsessively checking the reservation page for an earlier dinner time but to no avail. Oh the dilemma!

I'd choose the fireworks (we didn't really like BOG all that much) BUT... is there another night where you are free during the MK fireworks time? You can see the fireworks from the 4th floor observatory at the Contemporary Resort or the beach at the Polynesian... or even from the Ticket and Transportation Center. No park ticket necessary if you have spent the day in a different park, or no park at all!

We actually only have a ONE day park hopper plus ticket! It was a spontaneous surprise addition to our beach days because our two girls did soooo well in school. Not to brag but they both made 4.0! So I'm trying to make the most of the super short trip. The girls mentioned they wanted to do the BOG dinner after they saw the movie. I guess I will keep trying for an earlier time for BOG dinner. Because I've never seen the fireworks and I don't want them to miss it.

When is your trip? Have you tried Touring Plans reservation finder for an earlier time?

July 1st. Touring plans??? Thanks for the tip!
Touring Plans is a website. You need to create a free account and you enter your party size, restaurant, and date and time you are looking for. It will send you a text when a reservation becomes available - it doesn't make it for you, though, you have to go back on Disney's website and hope that you make it before someone else does.

Omg. That is AMAZING!!!! Cross my fingers it all works out. It's a complete surprise so I can't even ask my girls which they would prefer to do! It's tough guessing which rides they want to fastpass......but I'm sure they'll be happy just to go!
Thanks guys! Best and MOST responsive forum group!

Another thing to note about Touring Plans - if it texts you at 2:00 AM (which has been known to happen) and you miss getting the reservation, you need to go back into Touring Plans and reactivate the search - it won't automatically keep searching for more for you.

Yes...this has happened as well.

Agree with everyone about Touring Plans Reservation Finder!!! While on our trip, the day before our undesired reservation at Beaches and Cream, we received a text and email that our desired time had come available. I was able to snag it and modify our time on the app. As for your original ?, we have only had lunch at BOG and it was fun to see the theming, but I would not miss the new fireworks in lieu of BOG. Happily Ever After was amazing!!

I agree to keep trying to modify that BOG ADR. HEA is an amazing show and I would choose it over BOG.

Definitely see the fireworks--the new show is amazing!! We ate a late lunch at BOG 2 weeks ago. It was a trip I planned late and I was finally able to get the reservations by checking obsessively the night before we went. Good luck!

Just signed up! Wish me luck!

How was lunch at BOG? Since we weren't going to be at MK til after 4pm, I didn't even try to book lunch. Maybe I should switch my plans around? Also, after fireworks, there's a projection show....should we stay put in one spot and wait for the show?

Depends on what you are wanting from BOG. If it is just a meal, then lunch is fine. But if you ware wanting the beast interaction, that is only with dinner.

I was going to suggest breakfast or lunch. WIth just one day in the MK I would not waste time on a TS meal, especially one that will take as long as BOG.

I have not seen the projection show, but I would find an unobstructed Castle view for the fireworks and then stay put.
