BOG Breakfast-How Many Trips Through The Mine?

We had breakfast at BOG on two mornings of our trip 8:00 on 8/7 and 8:05 on 8/12. Both days we were let into the park about 7:45 and I have to say it really is magical walking through an empty Fantasyland. The cast members clap and welcome you in to BOG, it was a great way to start the day. We rode twice on 8/7 (first ride about 8:40) before heading to Peter pan and we were held by Philharmagic for a few minutes before we could head over to PP. The new cue at Pp is awesome! On 8/12 we rode one and a half times. Our first ride was about 8:40 and we were on the first train of the day. The second time we got stuck in the mine and had to be let off. They gave us a paper fast pass that could be used for any ride that day at MK. We didn't get off until about 9:10 and Peter pan was already 50 minutes. Im guessing since the mine train was down everyone headed there, I believe it was down until about 10:00 am that day.
We were there that day and also got stuck! Unfortunately, it was our first ride. However, we did get the free fastpass and already had a fastpass for it later, so it all worked out.We did end up waiting about 45 minutes in line for PP as that was where I intended to go after SDMT.

Is SDMT the only ride you can ride before RD? What time do they start letting people ride? Also can you get a picture of the Castle without anyone around it before you head to BOG? is there any photographers by the Castle that early?

8/19- one ride.
We got to BOG late for our 8:00am reservation cause the line out front was bananas. I was relying on bus transport and just mistimed it by a few minutes. No biggie but it put us behind lots of people.
We were out front of BOG at 8:40 and to the eternal embarrassment of my DD I counted 50 people in front of us. At exactly 8:45 they let us walk to SDMT and ride. As we were exiting we were right at the entrance and heard the manager guy say "last one- Mr. Red Sox is the last one" and he moved the rope. At that same moment the rope drop hoard arrived and filled the line. My DD couldn't believe how many people were there! We walked quickly to Pooh and were first on.
^You can certainly take pictures. But unless you are at the front of the "Reservations and Tours" line there will be people in your pics. There had to be hundreds and hundreds of people in line when we arrived. I didn't notice the photographers.
I think only SDMT is available but I believe I could have walked over to PP and waited nearby or at the CM. not really sure.

I have a 7:00 reservation at CP Dec. 30 and a 8:00 reservation at BOG restaurant also. Park opening is 9:00. Because I was able to get a 7:00 reservation, does that mean they are going to open the park early that day and how long a walk is it from CP to SDMT?

WOW!!! One of the big reasons I was considering BOG 8:00am breakfast was so we could avoid the craziness of rope drop!!! Hundreds of people does not sound like a relaxing way to enter the park. The other perk would be to get at the front of the line for a close by ride.

I would expect them to change to an 8am opening, with how busy that day usually is.

Yes,just SDMT-Pooh,Pan,etc. are outside the "containment zone".

Be at MK by 7:15 AM and you will be the first or one of the first in the Reservations line.

They will let you in around 7:45 AM and there will be PhotoPass CMs at the Castle.:)

I have to think the odds of anyone getting photos with nearly nobody in the background got a lot lower when they opened BOG for breakfast. Given the size of that restaurant and the faster turnover of tables, I wouldn't be surprised if it doubled the number of people entering the park early.

i think im one of the few who isnt all that impressed with 7DMR. dont get me wrong, i think its WONDERFUL and the inside part is breathtaking, but its over so quick you hardly can see it, and the whole ride is just over so fast that i feel like i did it once and i do use a FP for it everytime i go but its not worth trying to get it again.

We had an 8:05am ADR on Tuesday 8/18. We did pre-order - were done eating before 8:30am - 2nd family in line for SDMT - a CM escorted us in thru the FP+ line at 8:45 am - we rode twice - done at 8:55am and on our way to Peter Pan. It was great!

This is my hope for Tuesday. I am pregnant and cant ride so I did not want to waste a FP on it(we have been on it before) So I am hoping that my DH and DS can ride at least one time and then we will head over to Peter Pan and hopefully ride that with no wait.

That hoarde is certainly something to witness. I told my husband it's probably the closest thing to a zombie hoarde we'll ever see! LOL. It did totally remind me of a scene out of The Walking Dead.

When we did this in June, I didn't notice any Photopass Photographers out, but they may have been. I was pretty oblivious taking in the emptiness of the park! Even a few hundred people dissipate rapidly in the MK, so it isn't like your pictures would look anything like they'd look even an hour later at park opening. If you wanted to have as few people as possible in a picture, I guess you could get to the MK super early, like 7:00 a.m., to be in the front of the breakfast line. As a non-morning person, that wouldn't be worth it to me though, just based on how few people are there even with a 7:40 arrival.

We only rode 7DMT, but it also seemed like we were free to move about Fantasyland. I would assume they'd let you on any ride that was actually operating at the time, but it would be up to the CMs manning the ride. I'm not sure why you'd want to waste that previous 10 minutes on something that you could literally walk on after 7DMT anyway.

Hundreds is better than thousands, and it's not nearly as crazy as a regular RD since the crowds disperse so easily.

I just love all your photos with the characters in your signature!! Adorable!!

Last year they changed park openings to 8am in mid-November. They also added a 7am magic hour for every day over the holiday week at some later point. I would say there is a very good chance that the park will open at 7am that day.

Thanks for this!!! Sounds like I should keep our plan of trying to get that early breakfast then. Only problem is I read some where that the breakfast reservations don't open up until 90 days out where lunch and dinner opens up 180 days out. Is that because they don't know the opening times of the park that far out? How do you know the exact moment you can book?

You can book breakfast more than 90 days out. I did. They have been releasing the breakfasts in blocks. The current block goes to mid February I believe, which is way more than 90 days out!! The 90 day rule doesn't seem to apply anymore. It just depends on when the next block is released and how long it's for. Happy planning!! :)

So how in the world do you know when they release the next block? Would it be best to call or check online? I am sure that 8:00am slot is pretty popular so would you need to check daily then? Would be easier if I could make it 180 out

I heard about it right here on the DISboards. If you're active on here you should definitely hear about it! I had no troubles getting 2 8am breakfasts!
