BOG breakfast for Mine train warning! Early ride not guaranteed

Any new updates lately ? We leave at the end of August. I have 2 BOG breakfast planned. I don't mind being in the rope drop crowd but not behind them. :)

Here is an idea, use a fast pass. I wouldn't depend on a maybe getting in front. At least with a fast pass you would have a guaranteed spot, also I heard BOG was not that great of food.

If that is the case, then they shouldn't offer breakfast reservations that early. At BOG it only takes about 20-30 minutes to eat. So maybe they shouldn't offer the ADRs more than a half hour before park's opening time.
By starting breakfast service at 8-8:05, a full additional cycle of guests gets the ability to eat at BoG. That, not early access to attractions, is the point of starting breakfast service at that hour.

A lot of people who log in 60 days out still find they are gone already. Not everyone who wants one gets one.

Sometimes the FP are already gone so that's not always an option.

Really hoping that someone chimes in with some next day updates.

We had an 8am BBB for a 9am park opening (Jan 2015) and were roped off at the front of the carasoul. We had been waiting for a good 30 minutes and were waiting with maybe 5 other families too. Once 9am clicked they walked us very slowly around the carasoul and to the enterance of Fantasy land before letting us go. They walked even slower when they noticed the rope drop crowd had yet to hit SDMT enterance. Once they finally let us "free" 300 plus people had already filled in.

Do note that we could have easily walked just to the right of the carasoul and been first in line but they wanted to make sure we weren't and thus had us walk the detour.

Luckily, we had a fast pass for SDMT and just turned around and went in line for A&E and waited a full 10 mins if that and cancelled our later A&E for another event.

The trip before (January 2014) that we had a horrible experience with a CM at Enchanted Tales with Belle. He stood between the walk way and swaded back and forth deliberately so that I couldn't get a picture of my daughter when she went though to hug Belle. They don't let you move from your seat and I was just trying to stand up to get a good pic not even leaving my "area". I told him exactly what I thought of his conduct after the show and he didn't care on bit. He was a full on jerk! Deliberately interfering so I couldn't get my own picture and would ultimately have to buy Disney's picture. I have no doubt this is part Disney with them wanting you to get the second rate pic and for giving in and buying their overpriced pictures and second part just a jerk of a CM.

We didn't do the memory maker this past trip and we had more than a few issues with trying to just take our own photo. Example of one and many more similar to this...I asked CM to take our family pic with Mickey and she held they phone out and moved intentionally not even looking at the pic she was taking. I checked the pic cause I could tell what she was doing from where I was standing, asked her to retake the pic she did it again (moved dilibretaly so that the pic would blur) and after that I asked a nice man behind us to take our pic and guess what? A good pic with no blur. I don't understand why some CMs go out of their way to ruin the magic but they do and each year this increases. Now obviously there are tons of great CMs out there and hopefully more than the bad.

I know I got really off topic but my examples do support that sometimes its just a bad CM on a power trip.

I have been every January the past three years and each year our experiences with bad CM increase. They hold all the "power" and they know it.

This thread and my post make me question our 2016 trip. We love where we stay (Fort Wilderness) so that is what brings us back. Who knows, maybe this following year is the year to skip the parks.

I would have complained at guest relations about the ETWB experience. That whole setup is just crazy sometimes.

To eat at that 8:05 ADR, you had to get there at 7:50 or so. How many of those standing in line got there that early?

Getting there at 7:50 then *not waiting in line* does not guarantee you a later cut. If you go stand by the lake at 7:50 cuz it's nicer there, you cannot then, at 8:58 when the park is opening, walk up to the front, shove past people, and insist you are due to get in first cuz you were there first. Likewise if you go early and go eat, you are not waiting in line. You *may* get in before the others if the CMs happen to be lackadaisical about enforcing the line jumping (they usually are), but you are definitely not entitled to do so by some right.

If you don't want to be standing in line but still be "in line" there is a system for that. It's called FastPass!

Let's assume both groups are getting there way before the park opens. Both groups are waiting.

The only difference is the ADR group is paying a huge premium to wait in a restaurant and eat at the same time.

I can't see the logic behind holding ADR people to go behind the rope drop people? Both groups have done their time.

Well, no, not from a business standpoint. The ADD group is paying to eat in a restaurant. Once you enter the restaurant and utilize it as designed - somewhere to order, pay for, and eat food - that's what you're doing. Dining. Not waiting in line. If your ADR were at Chef Mickey 's at 7:30, there's a good chance you were at MK by 7 or so if using WDW transportation.

Then you go to breakfast, then back to MK. So now you've paid almost $40 per adult and $20 per child - more than BoG. You were at the park, but "waiting in line" while actually dining, at a higher price. The CM diners deserve to be ahead of both the RD and BoG guests.

I have a BOG ADR. I intend to go to breakfast and pay for breakfast. I do have a FP for 7MDT. Like many who post here, I like to have a plan. I just want to know where to go after we eat. If we can ride the mine train prior to park opening, or anything prior to opening, great. If not, I don't care. I just don't want to restrained from joining a line. Any reports from those who have had pre-park ADR in the last few days would be very helpful in figuring out a plan and much appreciated.

You can go in the off season. I have gotten up at midnight and always gotten the ones we want.

Plenty of people scheduling for September and October (off season) have been shut out 60 days out at midnight. You must have missed the threads.

I'm glad you got yours.

Lots of people go in October, there are lots of schools that are on a balanced calendar and have 2 weeks off. I think the fast pass system sucks because of that.

Plenty of availability issues in September as well.

Here now. Had a BOG ADR at 8:05. We were finished eating around 8:40. We had intended to go straight to Buzz (our tradition). On the way out they were indeed letting breakfast ADR guests ride SDMT. We hopped on. When we got off at around 8:55, the rope drop crowd was just entering the stand by line. Also, even though it was before the park opened, we got our ride video and photos with our memory maker.

I will be at BOG tomorrow at 8:05. We had to cancel the first two days of our trip due to some financial difficulties. I had A&E and 7DMT at 60 days out. We had to cancel the days six days out. Obviously, there was nothing left for either. We got an 8:05 BOG yesterday and plan to use it so that my daughter can see A&E. 7DMT we will just have to standby and pray for less than 90 minute waits. We did everything right and due to the innate unfairness of life, we lost our FP's for the single most important m&g of our trip. So, life is not fair and fair is not equitable. Everyone has the same shot at FP's and ADR's (especially ADR's). That is fair. Fair is not equal and equality is a pipe dream. There is no way to make everyone equal. Fairness is obtainable and Disney does about a good a job as any. Am I entitled to get a head start on the RD crowds at the main gate...no. Should I be held back because I was at the back of the park at 9AM when the park officially opens? A resounding H E double hockeysticks No. I will post a report tomorrow night about my "cheating" to get to A&E.

Except for many people the system doesn't work. Every time we have been in the park before opening, either for an ADR or BBB, we have waited exactly where a CM told us too. We didn't pick a random spot because we thought it was nice. We waited in a line inside the park. We've never gotten special access to a ride, but we were allowed to join the masses at rope drop when they caught up with us. We didn't have to wait for everyone to pass us.

BTW, letting those guests ride 7DMT before park opening is a win win. Gives some guest some pixie dust while shortening the wait time for guests who arrive at rope drop.

@dbramer I hope your strategy works out and you get to see A&E early without much of a wait. We were shutout for our entire trip for FP+ for A&E at 60 days out at midnight. We'll either hit MNSSHP our second night there or RD it on our last day.
