Do you prefer one over the other or do they both do the same thing?

I am specifically looking for something to prevent chaffing on my thighs when I am walking for a long time in hot weather.

Thanks!

I have something better for you......just use regular deodorant. It does the same thing and is much cheaper. I use the solid type.

Didn't think to try that. I tried baby powder during my last WDW trip but it did not help at all.

We have an August trip planned & I'm nervous about the heat. Last time we went in May, I was so sweaty, I had welts on my thighs :(

From what I remember when I looked at the ingredients, the only difference was that the "for women" one had colouring in it. It has, however, been a while since I checked (and, of course, the actual amounts of some of the ingredients may differ).

On other words - they do both do the same thing. I work in a running store and I've never heard anyone suggest that they worked differently for them.

I use Body Glide all the time when I run. I have never heard of Body Glide for Women. I'll be interested to see if anyone thinks it is different.

Clear deodorant. Doesn't matter what brand. Cheaper and does the exact same thing. I use it every time before I go for a run. Plus, it's available in many more places than the Body Glide.

The whole family uses it and I didnt even know there was a specific formula for women. Great product!

We have tried different things and I actually prefer the Monistat non chaffing gel in the tube, it's sold with the feminine products etc. to make the whole thing as uncomfortable as humanly possible. I think Body Glide is more popular simply because it's sold in Sporting Goods stores NOT next to ahem other products that maybe I wouldn't want my kids middle school friends seeing me rooting around:blush:.

Never heard of it and looked it up. Boy does it get some RAVE reviews! Thanks, ordering it today. :)

Has anyone tried an aluminum free deodorant for this purpose?
Does it work/last as well as regular deodorant?

<------ my tag is all about Body Glide (slathered...)

It is what DH buys and uses. I only used it on 1/2 marathon morning but it helped, no problems at all. I'll gave to try the clear deo tho.

I think they just label it for women and add to the price (as usual:rolleyes:)

BTW, that monistat chaffing lotion is a wonderful makeup primer for people who want to use a primer under their makeup.

DH tried using deodorant and said it didn't work. He also tried one of the other brands and it didn't work either.

I haven't seen it in a Womens' only option, in fact I have only seen one type.

Thank you for reminding me, I have to get DH some before he goes with his unit to California.

I'm pretty sure all they do is make it scented. I used to use Body Glide when I ran and it was always unscented.

For long races I use the generic Walmart version of Aquaphore (Equate I think) and it works just as well and is much cheaper. Of course it will depend on where you are putting it I guess.

ETA: A Google search found the following which is a response from the manufacturer to the same question:

Our flagship product, Bodyglide Anti-chafe balm is perceived by many people as a performance product just for performance athletes.

We were asked (by women) to create a package that is more approachable, to introduce more women to the benefits of a product that they, too, may have otherwise perceived as for the professionals.

So, the difference is packaging... and the benefits are reliable and consistent as they have been since we came to market in 1996!

And thanks to people like you, more and more women are learning about the virtues, and benefiting from greater comfort which enhances endurance, if they are athletes, and daily activity if they are on their feet, walking, or otherwise experience skin irritation and chafing on the body, or even raw skin caused by their favorite shoes (which may not be athletic shoes!).

I hear glide and ladies in same post I need to investigate
