Boba Fett in the Park?

After a super-fun trip to Disney World in June for Star Wars Weekends (birthday gift for my husband), I am really looking forward to Disneyland in a few weeks. (I'm probably one of the few who are happy about ride closures. In my mind that means less people. I know that's not always the case, but a girl can dream, right?)

In anticipation of our trip, I downloaded the MouseWait app. and was looking at part where people can post pictures and statuses (The Lounge?). There was a picture of a girl who had her picture taken with Boba Fett. I imagine he's hanging around Star Tours and was wondering if this is a common thing more so during the peak season, I imagine. Have you ever seen him? With the popularity of the new Star Tours are they incorporating more of the Star Wars characters in Tomorrowland?

Can't help with Boba Fett. There are now stormtroopers appearing in Tomorrowland sometimes though. I never saw if they were doing meet-and-greets (although I thought I read somewhere that they are), but they do appear periodically in the queueing area of Star Tours outside the simulators, and we also saw them marching around through Tomorrowland. My boys also got a picture opportunity with R2D2 which was very fun. I read over on another website that the R2D2 is a test right now, and he wouldn't be around long and it wasn't known where he would end up (i.e. DL or WDW) ultimately.

My Disneyland trip is the weekend after the Star Wars Blu-Rays come out, I already planned on watching all three to get pumped for riding Star Tours II for the first time, but seeing Boba Fett would make it even cooler!!!

Wow! My daughter would FLIP if she could meet Captain Rex. (She's oohing and ahhing over the picture right now. Great Shot!)

R2-D2 would be awesome! Seeing the Stormtroopers would be great as well. We didn't get a chance to take a picture with them at SWW, and both husband and daughter were a little bummed about that. We'll have to keep our eyes open when we go. Maybe the force will be with us that day. (ETA: Thanks!!!)

you are in luck! we just saw boba fett today and he was so awesome to both me and my brother. he was hanging out right by the star tours fastpasses.

Here is a picture of my kids with Boba Fett (and least I think that's who this is?) We were at the parks August 14-19 and he was around quite a bit, along with the Stormtroopers.

ETA: okay, so obviously I don't know how to post pictures. Any help on this?

Yes! It is true!!!!!

We were at the parks 8/16-8/23, and we saw R2D2, 2 Stormtroopers, Captain Rex, and Boba Fett! Also, the popcorn buckets are R2D2! We talked to some CMs inside Innovations and they had no idea Captain Rex was in the parks, and they hadn't seen the popcorn bucket yet.

DD ratted out the location of Star Tours and the Jedi Training Academy. They shook her hand to thank her for the info:

R2D2 apparently has a photo area, but we just saw him rolling around (with a CM). The Stormtroopers were wandering, poking around in strollers and approaching random people. They would stop for a photo if asked, but otherwise they were really just wandering around. Captain Rex and Boba Fett were stationed in Tomorrowland with CMs, and were posing for photos (and intimidating children/showing off their weapons, as seen in the above photos). It was REALLY cool and such a treat! R2D2 was out on Thursday morning, and the others were out on Saturday morning. Not sure whether this was a weekend-only thing, or an Expo thing, but that's when we saw them. And as I mentioned, some of the Tomorrowland CMs had no idea they were even in the parks. I showed them my photos on my camera and they were amazed!

OMG!!!! I hope they stay for Halloweentime!!! We won't be there til the end of the month/early Oct. And does anyone know if they still have the R2D2 Popcorn buckets? If so, are they sold only at DL near Star Tours? Do they sell them at DCA too?

Wow, this would be a great highlight to our trip! My boys are huge ST & Clone Wars fans! I hope they are still around in the Fall & not just a summer thing.

Anyone know anything about the R2D2 popcorn buckets? Do they still have them?
