Boathouse hard to get?

FYI: I have been checking availability each day because I'm like that lol. Our 60 day out isn't until June.

So because I'm staying onsite I can do the 60+10 days when I reserve. I know I need to jump to get my Oga's and O'hana quick. But I tried the Boathouse this morning and nothing.
We are coming in and will land around 1pm. I was hoping to get a 5/6 pm time. When I looked this morning there wasn't anything available. Some days had 9pm, but we are coming from a later time zone and by then we will be too tired/hungry to eat by then. Since it's the first day it will be right on the 60 day mark.
Long winded, but basically I'm asking is this normal? Can we walk up? I would keep checking to see if people drop, I just wasn't expecting this to need to be my quick book like O'hana.

It can be hard to get prime dinner time. I still don't think it's necessary to treat it like Ohana or Oga's, but like anything else popular it's going to be harder if you want it for your first day.

Personally I've never had an issue getting reservations for the Boathouse. If you can't get it at 60 days, I would definitely keep checking as your trip gets closer.

Boathouse reservations are also available through OpenTable. Have you tried through that site?

Last two times we ate there, most recent was November 2021, we couldn’t get a reservation and just walked up and we’re seated almost right away. If you don’t get a reservation and you’re going to be at DS anyways, give it a shot.

I agree with also looking on OpenTable. I skimmed through and I saw a ton of availability, though no prime dinner times for May and June. I also recommend looking closer to your trip if you're unable to get it. I'm stalking the app for a different restaurant for my upcoming trip and I occasionally see the Boathouse pop up as available for dinner.

Never had a problem getting Boathouse either and usually eat here when other options are not available.

You can book Boathouse way before 60 days via Open Table. I think I booked my mid-May ressie in maybe early Feb.- can't remember exactly when. Right now the reservations are open thru July 29.
