Boat from MGM to Epcot

Does a boat travel between MGM & World Showcase? If so would it be possible to catch the last show of Fantasmic, and travel by boat to catch Illuminations at Epcot?

Yes but the boat stops at the YC, BC, BWV/BWI and the S/D.

Depending on the show times would depend if you could catch both shows. Illuminations is usually 9:00 or 9:30 depending what time the park is opened until. Fantasmic times vary as well.

If you catch an early Fantasmic (7-7:30) you should be able to make Illuminations depending on how much time it takes to get out of the show and board the boat. It's about a 1/2 hr once you board the boat from MGM to get to EPCOT.

The only problem is getting on the boat. There will be tons of people trying to get to the Epcot resorts or over to Epcot that you may have to wait in line for several boats until you actually get on one. You might want to walk over to Epcot. It only takes about 20 minutes max.

If you did get on a boat it might be quicker to get off at the swan/Dolphin dock and walk to Epcot because the boat goes to YC then the BWI and then to Epcot. It is pritty slow...But a nice ride if you are not in a rush.

Thanks for replying everyone. I did'nt realise the boat made various stops, I thought it went straight to Epcot.
I think we will probably take Deb's advice and walk. Do you still have to go through bag searches when moving between MGM/Epcot.
