Boat from DHS to Beach Club?

Not sure how much time to allow for this.

DHS closes at 8. Was planning on being at boat dock at 8:00 to head over to Beach Club for an 8:30 ADR. Am thinking I won't make it in time?

Will there be much of a wait for the boat - especially when considering the park is closing at that time?

Guess my big question is... if leaving around park closing - how much time do I need to allow to wait for the boat and to make it to Beach Club for an ADR?

Am thinking of pushing ADR back a little later, or leaving DHS a little bit earlier.

We're doing Fantasmic at 6:30 - so that will end at 7, then planning to book it over to the Osborne Lights from about 7:15-7:45 - 8:00 at the boat dock to leave. This will be our second night seeing the lights, but want 20 minutes to a half hour to see them.

and can't forget... after Cape May Illuminations is at 9:30 - thought we'd make our way over to the bridge going from BC towards BW and try to catch some of it. So don't want to push my ADR back much later - though we are quick eaters (if seated on time) and could probably make it work with an 8:45 ADR.

and... does the boat leave DHS and go in what order? Is it to Swan/Dolphin and then to YC/BC or does it stop at BW first?

if you got through all this, thanks a bunch if you have any input!

Another option for you could be to walk from DHS over to the BC, if the weather is nice it's about 15 minutes. That way you don't have to worry about the variable of the boat.

I know that 30 minutes is do-able, but with WDW transpo (in this case boats) you never know. The boat ride itself will take you 7-8 minutes from DHS to S/D, then another 4 minutes to YC/BC marina. You have to add to that: wait time at DHS, then load/unload time at S/D. Based on average times, and a wait for the boat at DHS of 10 minutes, you can just make it.

The walk from DHS to BC will take about 20 minutes. It is an uncovered walk, but quite nice. Weather could play a factor.

If it were me, I would hold the DHS schedule as is, but try to push back the ADR at BC to give you more time. Something closer to 9:00 p.m. would work fine.

Just stayed at BC in August, and the boats were SLOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW. You can walk faster! I always give myself an hour to get to where I am going.

Unless a boat is loading and you can get on (could be tough at park closing) I would simply walk. Just stay on the walk with the water to your left. The walkway will then bend down away from the parking lot. You just need to keep going on that walk and you will get to the BC easily by 8:30.

Boat route, from DHS, to BC....leaves DHS, goes to S/D, YC/BC, then BW, finally Epcot. If you got on the boat, at 8:00,with no wait, and the boat left immediatly, you would get to YC/BC at about 8:20. BUT....with the park closing at 8, you are going to run into a huge number of others wanting to do the boat as well. I would imagine that there will be more boats coming and going, but it's still going to be tight.
You can walk, and that will get you to BC in plenty of time. It takes about 18-20 mins to get to BC from DHS when walking. I seldom take the boats when staying at BW, S/D or YC/BC..the walk is quite pleasant.
If I was leaving DHS at park closing, at 8, and needed to be at BC by 8:30 for an ADR, I would walk...not even a question for me.

But, I think you may be doing too much that night. That's a pretty full plate, with a ton of rushing around. It will take you about 5 mins to walk to the bridge after eating...and you will find others there as well.

You should be able to make an 8:30. If it were me I would walk. We walk from the BW to the Studios all the time - much quicker than the boat. As you leave the Studios stay to the right and the pathway entrance is right there. Just follow the path past the Boardwalk and around to the Beach Club.

Thanks for the replies!

So sounds like we should walk - but with three little kids, not sure how doable that is and if I want to hear the whining of how tired they are, plus it's towards the end of our trip, so they will have had their fill of walking! May have to just head to the boat - if tons of people there and looks like a long wait, then just take the walk. Going to try to leave a bit earlier, too.

We do have an awful lot crammed into this trip - only 6 nights this time and trying to fit in ALL the holiday stuff - like 2 MVMCPs, 2 times for OL and Fantasmic. If I can talk my daughter out of Fantasmic, that will help a lot.
Every time I think I have our schedule just right - something else comes up to fit in - like planned on no AK - now turns out Thumper is there, okay, had to squeeze in time at AK now.

So thanks for the info - very helpful on how long it will take. So seems either need to budget more time to account for wait for the boat at the end of the night, or just walk it.

Don't you just love it when trips just snowball?? Been there, done that. What was supposed to be a nice relaxing trip to WDW turned into the usual crazed running around trip I usually have.
Good luck with the planning. Hope you get to enjoy the time with family...even if it is hectic.
