My DH's parents have a 2 week per year time share in Hawaii through Interval International. They are not planning a trip this year, so they gave the exchange to us to use at WDW. (Very Nice!!) So, we booked a week at the BWV. I thought I was booking a 1 bedroom (because it said on the web site that it sleeps 4) but when the confirmation came in it was for a studio. (My in-laws time share is a 1 bedroom) I could have booked a 1 bedroom villa if I had only known, but there was no way to back out of it by the time we got the confirmation in the mail. (I did try to call Interval, but they said I had to go through Disney once the ressie was made). I have called Disney, but they sound pretty much confused about my predicament, (I probably didn't explain it too well) and keep telling me to call a different number.

Is there a possibility we can change that ressie once we get there? I have also read that faxing isn't the way they want to handle such questions. We have 2 DD's ages 17 & 19, and I thought this might be a little too close for comfort. If we can't, we will certainly make do! This a pretty much a free room for us (we just had to pay a few fees), so I don't want to sound like I am complaining! Just wondering.... We have stayed in Value, Moderate and Deluxe at WDW in the past, but never a villa. So this is a first!

Also, I read that if you are a vacation club member you only get maid service once a week. I was wondering where we fit in? I was going to get my mousekeeping cards ready, but am not sure what type of service we should prepare for!

And finally! How much do the midway games cost on the Boardwalk? I think we would get a kick out of playing those one night!

Thanks for any and all advice on BWV you can give!

You may want to post your question over on the DVC Discussion Forum here on the DIS. There are some very knowledgeable Members that have may experience on just this subject. I wouldn't wait until you arrive to try a straighten this out. Try and do it now or Monday...

I definately would post on the DVC board and as Dean for his help...he is quite knowledgeable in the timeshare world....

I do know that if your confirmation says stuido....you will get a studio...they do not upgrade...I would try to contact Interval again and find someone else to talk to...

You are right! I never go over to that section of the DIS, so I didn't even think about it.

Thank you!

It's also possible that the "value" of your parents timeshare in HI is the "value" of a week in a studio at the BW. If your parents timeshare is in low season with "garden view" and you are booking WDW at peak season with a boardwalk view, this is very likely the case.

The studio will be much like a standard deluxe room, except you will have a toaster, coffee maker, and minifridge. At the BW the room will be a queen and a double sleeper sofa.

Not sure about the maid service question.

I could have booked a 1 bedroom, and that is what I thought I did. It wasn't until I got the confirmation in the mail that I found it was a studio. I just don't think I am going to worry about it. I am going to try calling one more time to see if I can change to a 1 bedroom, but will be happy with the studio. I think it will be fine. After all, we will be at WDW and on the BoardWalk! No worries! (It's just I was hoping to convince DH to join the DVC and it would have helped if we were staying in a larger room!)

I do agree with one of the other posters in that if your confirmation says studio, that is what you're going to get.

More than likely your maid service will be a Trash and Towel day on your 4th day there, and a complete cleaning on the 8th day or vice versa. You can pay extra to get cleaning every day.
