I just received a letter from WDW stating that the major slide (name escapes me) at the Boardwalk is going to be under rehab during our stay (10/17-25). As a form of recompense, however, the good news is that they will allow all Boardwalk guests to use Stormalong Bay.

Just an FYI. It kind of bugs me but I figure, hey, they gotta do rehab sometime!

Personally I would be thirlled. SAB is MUCH nicer than the Boardwalk and there are still pools at the Boardwalk to use. (Of course I think the clown slide looks demented LOL!)

Wow! Sorry for the "angry face"! I think you are getting the best of both worlds. Though I haven't stayed there, I gleen that SAB is the best pool area at WDW.

Hope you & your partner can still have a very "magical" trip.

Don't worry about it! You will LOVE SAB! Happy planning!

The rehab is scheduled for Oct.6-the 29th. I too will be there Oct. 16-the 22nd at the BWI. I am looking forward to using the quiet pool. The large pool will be opened, just the slide is closed.

The pool was under rehab once during our stay and they provided a boat just for guests going to SAB at the Friendship boat dock. Just an FYI:D

Part of our stay too will occur during the rehab, but we're actually looking forward to it because of SAB!!!! We've never been to SAB but have seen the picutres and I know 3yo DD will love it!! :D

Hi Rick....they rehabed the pool Sept 2001....we were there...and also got to use the SAB pool....you should enjoy it....it is a very nice pool....but I would also use the BW pool it will probably be less crowded due to everybody taking advantgage of being able to use the SAB pool.....

I guess my use of the smiley icon was inappropriate. I had actually intended to mean that I was initially gonna be cranky but when I learned that we could use SAB, I was pretty pleased! I've always wanted to check it out but didn't dare lest I get pelted with rocks and garbage!

Just barely a week to go before the big trip! I'm so excited that I've been eyeballing my suitcase!

Hey RickinNYC, Luna Park was being rehabbed when I visited in Sept 2001. There was a nice little boat to take us to SAB, and I was glad we were able to try it. We used that once, but it is more of a trip to get over there, so we also used the quiet pool a lot.

Luna Park opened on the last full day of the stay, and we enjoyed using our resort's own pool. But using SAB wasn't too shabby, don't worry, you'll have a fine time!
