My daughter and I are leaving this coming Friday, June 17th, for a special Mother-Daughter trip before she gets married. Do you have any special suggestions regarding a room request and/or view? Secondly, how do I make the room request for Boardwalk? Fax number? Phone number? Or just call Disney and have it on our reservation? Confused!! Appreciate any help you can give!

Congratulations on your Mother-Daughter vacation.

Let's start with a couple of questions. What room category do you have confirmed? That is the first step in finding a good "view" to request. The next question is what are your priorities for a location: great view, quite room, near the elevators, or high floor / lower floor?

Room requests can be noted on your reservation by calling to update your reservation with CRO at (407) 934-7639, using one of the generic request options when doing "online" check-in (you can do that now) or by faxing a request 3-5 days before the beginning of your stay. The FAX needs to go directly to the hotel and should be to the attention of the "Room Assigner" at (407) 939-5150 and include your name and confirmation number (12 digit number that begins with 4).

Reminder: Room requests are just that "requests", it all starts with the basic view that you are paying for.

We have enjoyed many visits to the BWI. We always booked 'standard view' and haven't made any specific room requests. On our first visit we entered the room and went to the balcony and were surprised to see the "Eiffel Tower". That room also offered a nice view of the Illuminations fireworks. Other visits have been to rooms that overlooked the quiet pool, the gardens of the Garden Suites, a small fountain, and the court yard. All of these views made relaxing on the balcony enjoyable. Only once did we have a room that overlooked part of the conference center roof.

If it interests you I might suggest asking for a 'Epcot view' room.

That's what we did once and were able to sit out on our balcony and watch part of Illuminations. We were too tired to go out (and we've seen it several times) so it was nice to just sit out there with a glass of wine and see the fireworks. Another time we were on the ground floor looking out into the gardens. We sat out there two or three times with a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers we picked up at the little store at the Boardwalk. Very different views but both really nice and I think that they were standard rooms, at least at that time.

I always use the Room Finder at Touring Plans to find a room in a location I like and then use their fax service to request a similar room. Not perfect, but no method is, but I've had a very high success rate of getting a room that meets the request type. I find it easier than calling (hate dealing with Disney's phone system)

We requested Illuminations view, close to elevators, top floor. We were granted 2 out of 3. I'm really glad I added the elevator one because those hallways are loooooong.
