Boardwalk in October ?

Hello All !
We own at SSR but want to try something different... We are looking at the Boardwalk, a 2 bedroom Villa the first week of October. I can't reserve until March ( the 7 month window ). Does anyone have experience booking for an October Vacation, having to wait until the 7 month window ? Also, how has the economy affected the DVC reservations recently, ( if anyone knows ) ?

october is food&wine festival time at epcot, so you may run into trouble booking BWV or BCV. i'd book at your home resort now and change later if you luck out and find availability at the 7 month window.

We stayed at SSR last October and were waitlisted at both BCV and BWV. Niether waitlist came through. Not to say yours won't but F&W is very popular and many DVC'ers book DVC during this time. Good luck, you never know!

What do you all think the availability would look like at about the 8 month mark? I just closed on a bwv resale and am hoping to stay for a week in late October. I'll make the reservation (or try to) as soon as I am in the system.

not looking too good, even at the 9 month point. i'd plan to be flexible this year and try to book at 11 months next time. (you could still jump on the waitlist ahead of non-BWV owners if it comes to that.)

Yikes! I guess I shouldn't rely on the resort reservation availability board then! We'd like to stay at our "home" for our first stay, but if that doesn't work out, it's OK. For future Octobers we'll book exactly 11 months out.

We are SSR owners also and were able to book BCV last year. We arrived on Thursday, September 25th , the day before the F&W festival began and stayed til Oct. 2nd. It was a great vacation. Good luck!
