My wife and I have made arrangements to stay at the Boardwalk, concierge level, the first week of November. Ten days, nine nights. We're thrilled, especially because we'll be there for the Epcot Food Fest.

We've never stayed at WDW concierge level room before; we HAVE done it at the Disneyland Hotel, but found that experience pretty disappointing. But we got a good deal for this trip, with a Disney Club rate, so we decided to grab it.

Anybody have any impressions of the Boardwalk concierge? Good, bad, indifferent??

Hi Greg K. Just to add to your post, could anyone also say what type of food is offered in the concierge lounge as well as the wine selection. Also just to clarify- is the BelleVue room the actual concierge lounge or something different. Is there a balcony and if so, is there any seating?

This too will be our first stay at concierge and would love some more information.

My wife and I stayed Boardwalk Inn, Boardwalk view, concierge back in August of 2001. It too was my first experience in this level of a stay, and even with my high-level of discerning "picky-ness", I was generally pleased with the additional, non-intrusive pampering.

When we arrived, there was no special concierge check-in, at least that we were greeted with. We checked in at the normal counter with everyone else, and had about a 20 minute wait. The lady at the counter made a couple mistakes that would come back to bite us later, and I used this "opportunity" to gauge the effectiveness of the concierges. I will talk about this in a sec.

When we got up the the Innskeeper's Club, the floor that concierge members stay on, I was met with the best aroma in the hotel. Maybe someone can verify this, but they HAVE to pipe in a certain woody-sweet smell, just on that floor. It definitely adds to the luxurious feeling. There was no one at the concierge desk, but we did meet up with Don Hughes, who is probably the nicest guy I met the whole trip. He was our concierge planner I had been in talks with weeks prior on the phone.

We stayed Discovery Magic, and therefore our plastic room key was our ticket to every park. Or so we thought. My wife and I got all the way to MGM, and couldn't get in with our "tickets." The lady at the counter messed up and didn't load the park admissions on our room key. After about a half hour of getting it straightened out, we got in the parks. Later that day, one of the concierges called to check on our stay, and I explained the situation to her. She apologized and gave us both free e-night tickets for that night. To me, it was just what was called for, nothing more, nothing less.

The food offerings in the moring generally are in line with what is offered at other concierge lounges--pastries and fruits, coffees with flavor additives, teas, and water for morning; nuts, crackers and cheeses for lunch, and I don't know about the evening offerings (always in the parks). I can tell you about the wines though : ) They had a selection of 1998+ vintage wines--merlots, cabernet sauvignons, whites, etc, about 6 bottles total. They also had dessert cordials, such as Almoretto, Jack, and a few others.

I will say though that they made me feel like it was a "one drink" limit, but I didn't test it. And yes, it is called the Bellvue room, and it does have a balcony that overlooks the gardens and some of Epcot. There are a few tables, a couple couches with coffe tables, a television, and a bar. The Illumination fireworks can be seen here at night.

This is all from memory from a year ago, so sorry for any ommissions. In all, the service was excellent, everyone had a smile, and the concierges were more than willing to go that extra step to make us happy. The food was great, room was nice and, that smell was AWESOME.

A couple notes--

The Innkeepers Club is the name of teh lounge at the BWI. The Belleview room is the bar on teh main floor between the Inn and teh Villas.

I also loved the BWI concierge. I had just the opposite on teh "one drink limit", they kept refilling my glass!

YOu need a key to get into the concierge floor, I stayed there this past June, like the previous posted we checked in with all the other hotel guests. as far as the friendllyness of the staff they were but did not go out of there way to do anything special. not many people were in the lounge so I always felt like I was being watched what I took, just an uncomfortable feeling, I guess I was spoiled at the YC the yr before.:D

The BWI has concierge rooms on floors other than the 4th, but the 4th is where the lounge and some of the rooms are and it is keyed. Just an FYI the whole 4th floor is not keyed just one end, you would get off on the 4th floor elevator and make 2 rights walk down the hall a bit then you would see the door for the Inn Keepers Club. I have to agree with Gail T AGAIN the BWI has a different feel to it, and I know that they have all new CM's since some have left and some went to BWV's. That said my next 2 trips will be there.....Can't Wait!! Laurie :D

Thanks for the reply. I thought I had read before that there were regular rooms on the fourth floor as well. :) Once you pass thru the Innkeepers Club doors, are the rooms also in that secure area?

Yes, there are rooms. I have stayed in 2 different deluxe rooms, the Steeplechase Suite is there (Steven Tyler was in that room when we were there and Julie Andrews just left), and there are regular concierge rooms as well. The beginning of those rooms start just to the left of the bakery if you are facing the BW. Laurie :D

I've only stayed there concierge once so far, but I liked it very much! The hotel has a great lcoation, the concierge CM was extremely efficient (and nice to boot!) and it's just a lovely place! You won't be sorry!

Just back from BWI and AKL cocnierge - BWI wins!!! The service was excellent , the staff were so friendly - my two children 10 and 12 felt at home there immediately!! They were offered sodas as soon as we arrived - these were never offered at AKL. My son loves chocolate milk and they caught on to this straight away - every time we arrived in the lounge he was offered it!!! They were by far the best. We stayed in a deluxe room 4255 right above Seashore sweets, the view was wonderful. We would often take a tray back from the lounge to the room and sit out on the balcony watching the world go by.
