Boardwalk Bride's PJ Morocco/Canada/Attic/SCP updates 01/09!!

i would cut the "behind the seeds" tour, you can go on the "living with the land" ride and see the same thing. (my roommate used to work the ride, thats what she said.)
as for food...... i dunno, they are all really really good picks!:confused3

Tours:
-Wanyama Safari Resort (sunset safari)
-Epcot around the world on a segway
-behind the seeds

The only one of these I haven't done is the Wanyama Safari - if that's the one you can only go on if you're staying Concierge at AK, then I say don't cut it! Even if it's the one that Concierge guests from any resort can go on, I'd have trouble cutting it because it's still sorta exclusive.

Of the other two, I can highly recommend Behind the Seeds. For one thing, it's cheap, but for another it is really interesting. The Land ride is so boring now and you don't really learn anything. Behind the Seeds is the way the Land ride*should* be - you get to see all the hydroponic plants and learn how they are grown, plus the fish hatchery, plus you get to taste something they've grown there (I mean, in the hydroponic garden, not in the fish hatchery! :rotfl:). It just feels like you learn and experience a lot for the money.

We also enjoyed the Segway tour, but if you're a speed demon, it's kinda frustrating. :rotfl: Plus, you could save it for another trip - or even do it on your anniversary so you could be back near your wedding site at exactly the time you were married there, like we did!

Restaurants:
-Raglan Road
-Biergarten (sp??) - yes, I am giving in a (possibly) trying it
-San Angel Inn
-Big River Grille
-crystal palace
-ohana
-Tusker House (lunch)
- Jiko (if we don't have the tour)
- Sanaa
-Kona
-Boma

I'd cut Big River Grille - you can go to a brew pub anywhere - Biergarten; either Tusker House or Boma, since they serve basically the same food; and Sanaa if you don't like Indian food (but of course keep it if you love Indian food). Ohana is *very* frenetic, so if you're not into noisy and crowded, you can cut that. Crystal Palace you could cut if you aren't that into characters, cuz the food is reportedly just OK.

My two cents! :goodvibes

I tried to book the Wanyama Safari last week but was quoted $170 each so I decided against it.

Ok my two cents...Love raglan road, jiko and boma. Never been big on Beirgarten or Crystal Palace.
DF loves 'Ohana and despite bad reviews, I have only had one bad meal there.
Kona was a disaster last time we went, although in the past it was amazing!!

Not sure about the tours though!
Ohana would prob be my first to cut, but we already told people we would do a group dinner there, ugh!! Kona is my favourite (coconut chicken + lapu lapu = heaven). This is too hard!

Well, at least they all look good :lmao:

The safari is for any guest staying at AKL, so yes, it is exclusive, which pretty much means this might be my only chance! Plus, I love animals, and it is an activity I can do at disney while sitting! :lmao:

I think we would really love the Seeds tour. I loved the "ride" and found myself wanting more info...so when I saw that you could do a tour there (which I found in your TR) I knew I wanted to do it! The money saved cutting it isn't really much either.

That's a great idea!! I think I may cut that out for this trip, we are already heading to Epcot a lot, so it will leave the morning open for something else.

I agree with Big River Grille. DF is really into beer (not in being a drunk way, he is like an actual connoisseur, lol! So we can just go there for a beer at night. I think we will get rid of Boma and keep tusker house, I have been to both, and I like Tusker a lot better! And I will have to choose between Crystal Palace and Ohana, I don't think we need both.

Thanks:goodvibes

Yah, it is expensive! But, DF and I figure our meal would be $100 each anyway, once we add apps, main course and wine (we love wine, which you may realize by now if you read my pj, lol). So really, it would just be like $70 for the actual tour, which doesn't seem to bad. I think I am just going to go for this one, but not tell DF, and surprise him!

Thanks ladies!!!

In other news....

I have narrowed down my choices for a wedding band. Technically, I already have one (it came with my e-ring), and it is nice, but I wanted to pic out my own, which DF knew, but he couldn't get that particular ring without the band...so he told me I can just have two, lol. Luckily enough, the ones I really like are both under $300. Here are my 2 front runners:

This one is more $$ since it has diamonds. I like that it is simple, yet different. My only concern is that the pink stone is a ruby, so it may actually be more red in person (ruby is my birthstone, but red is so not my colour :rotfl:). So I sent the jeweler an email to clarify what the stone will look like.

I love this one too! Part of me thinks it is too much colour to wear everyday, but I love colour! I can custom pic the stones as well, to just have certain colours, but I kind of like the way it all looks together.

I haven't uploaded my turkey yet, I will try on wednesday!!!

For tours I'd keep the Safari one. The other ones you could always do on a later trip. ;)

Hmm, for the ADR's, I'd probably cut Boma, could you do a Tusker House breakfast instead of Crystal Palace? We loved Donald's Safari Breakfast and had a much better time there than Crystal Palace.

Oooo I love Kona too....and that coconut tart! I could eat 10 of those! :worship:

I like the first ring best. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear your turkey came out so good! Lol, I only really take food pics at Disney but it does feel strange the first few days we're back from a trip and NOT taking a pic of everything I eat!

Thanks for the advice! We were actually thinking about Tusker house for the lunch buffet. I loved the breakfast one, but I am a HUGE fan of African food, and more of it is served at lunch/dinner. I like crystal palace, but I don't like screaming children,so maybe I will change that one.

I love the first ring! I found out today they can put a sapphire in instead of a ruby, so I think I will get it! :goodvibes

oh i like them rings! May i ask where you are thinking of getting it from? Do they have a website? I think colour in a ring is a really nice touch!

And lucky you- you get two wedding bands!

They are both from Esty, from sellers I found on wedding blogs. The only negative thing is they are sterling silver, but I know other people who have sterling silver bands, and they say you just need to take proper care of them, and they should last!

I had submitted the cake I had wanted (the sparkly one with the castle) to my coordinator a week ago, and I heard back from her today that I cannot have it :sad2: I guess the sugar doesn't stick to the gold fondant, and the castle cannot be outside in April. So basically my only option to use it is to do it all at the Attic at the reception, and have the base another colour. At first I thought I would just do this, but I am sooooo pumped to be getting married in Epcot that I want to do everything I can there, and get pics with a variety of things! On the other hand, not having the cake cutting may leave more time for pictures around the site.....errr I don't know what to do!

I am thinking maybe I shouldn't have the castle topper. I wanted to bring some of it home to put in the freezer for our anniversary, but it may melt on the plane on the way home anyway....so basically I would just be paying $100 for a topper that we can't even keep! I think that I may need to start looking around for another cake!

Ohh this could be fun though!! I know you had your heart set on that but you can always window shop for a new cake...you never know!!

What are you thinking for the new cake?

I really want a cake with texture....that is why I liked the sugar covered one. I just don't really want the "smooth" look. Here are a few ideas:

This is like the one I wanted originally. I was thinking I could just leave the cake white and add a coloured ribbon.

I also am looking into getting the first band I posted in white gold. I am a little iffy on getting it in sterling silver, so I will see how much it costs in gold!

I love all those cakes. I think it is wise to get your ring in white gold.

Oh all those cakes are soooo pretty!!!!! i like the idea of texture on a cake!

And i love the wedding bands... I looked at a couple with color and they are very unique and i dont think you can go wrong with either one you picked out!

falling behind! I like ring #1! Sorry things didn't work out with your first cake but I also like cake #1 and #3!
